Nice neat install, Todd. It looks like you successfully designed the quick release mounts? How did you wire the saddlebags - as taillights or turn signals or even running lights? Nice job. Actually. after looking at it that is why we decided on the LED strips. Since we need them to be removeable we decided to not even use them so the lights in the saddle bags are not even connected. I will try and get some better detailed pictures of my Linhai install this week. The jonway is with my dad so i will not get better picture of that until it is back this way.

Ok I have had people ask about my saddle bags install. I have been a bit away from things for a bit. During the install I managed to throw my back out and my right Arm was in so much pain it took almost 3 weeks of Acupuncture and chiropractor appointments to get me some one mobile again. I still after almost a month do not have feeling in my index finger on my right hand. So enough of that. Ok so on top of the saddle bag and trunk installs I decided that we should work on some safety lighting also. I got 2 different lights. The first Light I cant find a link to it was an oval dual intensity LED Tail/brake light. This is by far the best add on so far. This is one of the safest add on I have added to our scooters to date. One for signals. I took theses .autozone.com/autozone/accessories/Alpena-24-in-red-FlexLED-light/_/N-25pw?itemIdentifier=60071_0_0_" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">.autozone.com/autozone/accessories/Alpena-24-in-red-FlexLED-light/_/N-25pw?itemIdentifier=60071_0_0_Cut them in half they have cut areas you can then solder leads on and use the cut off parts. So I had enough for 2 scooters turn signals. These were added to the existing turnsignals and were huge improvement. I have to take some more in depth pictures these are just taken with phone. This is on the Jonway This is on the Linhai

Hope it stays contained and you and your family can stay out of the way. I am sure glad we have not had any wild fires around here.

Check the fuel lines really close. to me it sounds like you have a pin hole in a fuel line and the fuel is draining back in to your tank. Then it is having to reprime itselt to start. Also check to make sure that the line on the bottom of the bowl does not have a pin hole in it as that will drain off any fuel that is in the bowl. The Helix clone carbs do not have a shut off valve on the carb it is at the bottom of the bowl drain hose. I think your problem is probably in one of these areas.

If it is anything like my 260 mainstreet after sitting for an extended period of time it is a cold hearted sun of a gun to start. I feel part of the issue with the linhai is probably the gas has ran out of the carb bowl. Now these have an electric fuel pump. But the pump only runs when the motor is running so it spits very little fuel to the carb while you are cranking on it. after the bowl gets full it will start. We have actually ran the battery dead a couple of times starting this thing after it has sat. Then charge up and usually starts on the first or second push of starter switch. Just my theory.

it is hard to explain. This is not a true push pull. it is more a pull pull system. I thinks if the main cable would break it would render the throttle useless. It is more of a throttle return assistance cable.

There are two connections on the carb butterfly one to the top one on the bottom it works as a push pull system. It also works as a back up if one of them breaks like it did on mine.

Todd, last year I had the same issue. The scooter was running fine then just stalled. I found out it was the coil. Did the same as yours had to wait about 10 minutes and it would start right up. You have that expensive cdi, JR and I have the cheap one with two connector plugs. Lucky for me the POS Roketa I have sitting in the garage uses the same CDI and I have a spare coil also. :

This CDI does not have a 2 wire plug. It is just one big plug. but will check all connections.

I have not worked on it. The one that dumped all the oil I pulled off to the side until I can pull the motor get it running and sell the POS. The linhai Is running Think the issue was with the CDI I will try different one on it. I think if it was the coil it would just be completly dead but if the CDI and I still have the problem when it gets warm I will try new different coil on it. Right now I am just waiting till it cools down tonight so we can get New Trunks and Saddle bags mounted up on scooters.. :
