JR Thanks for your good work. I will check these sites out . Today was a great day. I found out the story on the scooter and contacted the grandmother who bought the scooter for her granddaughter. She had the title and her son had the key. they were very gracious to me both. So now I will reconnect the ignition and try starting it with the key and then I will have and hope this scooter will run. I noticed a few things that were missing such as the gas tank that I will use a lawnmower gas tank to test it out but I could use a good used one plus both mirrors are broken and it seems like someone removed the center stand from the scooter. If you know of anyone or a site that I could get good reasonable parts - new or used - please let me know. Again, thank you for all of your help. Mel

gasket only the part number is #12391-460-770
Another project is replacing a gasket on cylinder cover which the part number is #12391-460-770 for a 1982 Honda Nighthawk 650cc SC. I am wondering if you could locate this part on an ebay site like you did for the lock cylinder?

Hi, Newbie with a new project. I just acquired a Baja Scooter 125cc SC It says on it that it is Zongshen Industries Group Co. , Ltd. Also engine family – 6ZGNCO12NFG Year: 2006 You guys are the smartest group on Chinese scooters. I would like to know where can I download a free manual because it looks like somethings are not connected properly.
Thanks, Your friend, Mel melalice2004@aol.com

Information needed on canopy top on a scooter:
When I was looking on U tube regarding the variator, one of the people had a scooter with a canopy looking top on his scooter. Is this option available through an accessory dealer? If anybody knows, please get back to me. It looked like something I saw on a trip in Europe years ago.
Thanks, Mel

Question: As in the picture the hub that has the fins on it, what is that called? Is the variator behind this hub with the fins?
You are talking about removing a nut. Is this the nut that is holding the hub with the fins on it?
Also, where is the boss that must be cleaned and lubricated? What other parts need to be lubricated? what parts need to be degreased? Is there any U tube videos that I can go to the library and look at that explains things in more detail? Thanks, Mel

What is the skill level of cleaning the variator??
Good Morning
I was able to get the head lights working by playing with the wiring and fuses. Going back to the hesitation/shaking when you first give it gas for the first 5 seconds or less, you mentioned regarding cleaning the variator
The variator, I believe, is under the side cover where the belt is. Do you have to remove the variator and take it apart? It looks like a lot of time and work to do this, am I correct? I am afraid once I take it apart, if I have to take it apart, I can run into more problems than it is worth.
I can understand cleaning something that is attached and together versus dismantling it and finding myself having a bunch of sliders and etc. You mentioned the shaft/boss. It also seems like you have to take more things apart. Is there a step by step instructions on how to clean this? Thanks, Mel
