Oh hey, another problem or at least question just came to mind. Assuming I do a switch to heavier wires for the big volt-eaters, no matter what, when I get to the actual gadget -- fan, or R/R, or CDI, or stator -- the last couple inches of wire are still going to have to be the old ?16? gauge wire, since those wires go right through the housing of the device, no way to remove them and connect the heavier wires directly to where they need to go. So, am I gaining anything if at the end of the day the juice still has to squeeze through a short bit of smaller wires? Kinda like connecting a 3/4" garden hose to a 1/2" hose -- seems like all that's going to come out the end is what the smaller "conductor" can handle. Yes? No?

Light gauge wire for a shorter distance . Still better than a thin wire a long distance .

I just wanted to add that I sent a a question to Corsa last night about connectors and Alex emailed me back later on ,same night Nice tech support and I gave him a small($6) order

Heck, I'd love to take a completed wire modded scoot.
& copy the wire-harness with mods, upgrade to better water-proof connectors, thicker gauge wire, a fuse block,
separate the basic engine-sys & Lighting/Accessory sys. wiring, finishing up into sleek clean wire harness.
In other words, a better, built from scratch, & simplified harnesses. _

I have replacement harnesses that I use for parts . The ones I use are listed for your scooter . You can take a new harness for parts or show me what you need .
I dont sell the harness to replace a complete harness , because of to many variances .

Of course everybody knows this, but there is a difference in solders. Acid core and resin core. Just make sure you use the correct one for it's intended purpose. Also you don't need a big heavy solder for small wires. There are a ton of new cool wire splices and connectors out there now.

Yo oldputz, I know there is acid core and resid core solder, but I have no idea what the difference is as far as which should be used when, and why. Care to elaborate? I'm sure I won't be the only one smarter for your effort.

Resin core only for electrical work. Acid core is not even used in plumbing work, it corrodes things near the joint soldered. And there is a big difference in brands of solder. I use only Kester resin core for electrical joints. Other brands that I have tried do not make a good clean and well bonded joint.
