. It's good to know we still got some folks out there with some good sense. - Out where I live I still plenty of dim-bulbs riding these 50cc's with no regard to their own safety let alone respect towards others on the roads out here.

I can now work on looking for a trike scooter now. So my spouse won't lean the wrong way in a turn. (She tends to lean with-scoot in slow turns, instead of leaning just-the-scoot itself.) _

Since, I didn't have any insurance on the scoot. & there is no need for registration on 50cc or less here in the state of Ky.
The likely chance of the scoot being found is the same for a stolen store brand bike. Which is like 12%. It's highly likely that it was picked up then cut-up for scrapping/recycling.
I'm just having to deal with that realality. I've started working on saving up & keeping an ear out for a trike that I might be able to find for easy fixing. _

Whelp, Afternoon starts by being 30 miles out from home with spouse. We get nearly cut off by truck @ intersection, we had to make a quick stop while making turn. I made the turn, my spouse ended up laiding her bike down & jamming her knee + getting road rash to boot.
Short story. Got her & scoot out of roadway, police recommends EMS, spouse agrees. She goes to hospital.
No choice but leave scoot about 5 feet from side of road near grass, lock scoot steering column, & put lock cable through front wheel & wrap cable around front body. Then go to make sure my spouse is ok @ hospital.
I get to hospital about 6 Mi from the intersection. Then we both are @ hospital for 6-1/2 Hrs.
X-rays, doctor checks up her, then she's cleared ok with only scrapes, & a so-so banged knee.
We both ride on my scoot 6-Mi back to the intersection where this all started. Only to find, no scoot.
Call police, then police impound yard, spend 40-min on phone, to find the reality is... The scooter has been stolen.
So... both of us is forced to ride my scoot all the 30-miles back home. One crappy, sore butt inducing, long ride home.
So now I'm stuck back with one scooter for a family of three again. & to put in rough terms, I've been robbed of the equivalent of $300, & two weeks of hard work. - Thanks to any that put up with my rant here. It helps me to get this off my back, & my mind.
No-one has to respond to this, it was just some way for me to vent. - Later.

Hey, shout out from Oldham-County Ky, here! Would have to estimate I'm about 70-mi from ya.
That's about a 2-hrs+20-min ride on my scoot averaging about 30-Mph driving time. I'm no stranger to hour long rides. I do 61-Mi round trip twice a week, donating plasma. _

Wholly, friggin crap! Found my problem. I started by pulling the stock engine, & putting in a temp.
Found something of interest when swapping engines around. My iridium spark-plug had lost its needle like tip, leaving a rather large gap. I regapped it, & put it in the temp engine. The temp engine ran about as bad if maybe worse than the stock. (Smoked as if had ring seat issue.) So decided to put the stock back in. But this time I put a good stock spark-plug in my stock engine. & then I cut my exhaust down to 10" & put in a restrictor with a 7/16-hole about 1" long followed by a reexpansion to stock pipe size (3/4"-I.D.) about 3" long to act as a venturi on the exhaust. Exhaust is now around 12" long todal. -- Whew, what an improvement ! The darn thing runs around 36-38 MPH on the flats! 39-41 MPH with some back-wind. --- Crazy, the exhaust was part of the problem the whole time, when I put my mouth to the exhaust/muffler intake & blew I felt some resistance. Now when I do this test on any other exhaust/muffler I can barely feel any resistance. So this is either how their slowing these scoots down, Or I got a bad muffler from the start. ---- Still looking to do the 47mm swap, & tune my exhaust a little more. Maybe get a long-pipe glass-pack made. _

Cool. I've been thinking the same thing with the whole compression thing as well. Rings might not have seated right, or just got an ill engine from the start. ---- So do you agree that a 47mm bore kit won't need anything else with it. I won't need to get a bigger main jet or something else? ---- Sence the go-big or go-home set up would put a hurt on the wallet. lol. _

Well, been running happily for awhile now. Things come'n'go, but milage is good. (average around 100-mpg.) Having to keep tight eye on oil & tire pressure. Other than that, it's good riding time. ---- But I'm wanting to get about another 5-mph more from my scoot for as cost efficiently as possible. Will a 47mm-bore piston+cylinder kit (aka-70/80cc kit.) nothing else, be installed & work with only tuning to current (18mm) carb? - Or should I save up & do a BIG complete kit? (Head, Cyl, Cam, Intake-manifold, 20mm-Carb.) Maybe a kit like this?: .scootertronics.com/gy670cc1.html" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">.scootertronics.com/gy670cc1.html

i use the mid grade gas & sometimes i put in alittle seafoam but i never get smoke If your trying to get smoke with Seafoam you mist or squirt it in the air intake while running. But Seafoam has made doing that even easier now, with there "fogging" spray can. -
