Just finished searching for and reading a bunch of threads about LED bulbs, and where headlights were mentioned at all it was to say "there ain't no such animal." But some of the threads were on the old side, so -- is that still the case? At some point I might want to put LED headlights in my 2011 Roketa.

Unfortunately, no clue unless I remove all the front plastic and pull out the OEM bulbs to read the fine print, which I'm not eager to do unless I have to. Anybody out there with a late-model MC-54-250 (or 54B-250, or 54-250B, or Jonway 250, or Tank 250, or YY250T, or any of the many possible aliases) know the OEM bulb number for the headlights?

OK, sounds like H4 is probably the answer, but as you may know from my other threads, I'm trying to reduce wattage (amp draw) any way I can because my charging system isn't performing all that well. LEDs in smaller lights didn't do it, lower-amp fan didn't do it, had to add a switch to turn off the headlights in daytime to finally get a decent voltmeter reading. If I can find legal LEDs for the headlights I might be able to leave them on in the daytime again -- not required here in AZ but always a good idea for safety.

OK, I have a 2008 MC 54 250B which is a 244cc scoot. See you missed one in your selection list. My sales and title and Roketa stuff just mention MC 54 250 but somehow the designation on the side of the rear panels has the ending B added. For working on the head lights you may be able to do that just by removing the small panel in front of the windscreen. Then you should be able reach down through a hole to get to the headlight bulbs or to make adjustments to the direction the lights shine. I did that on my scoot as when I received it the lights were cross eyed. I have move both the left and right to get them to point more forward and more level to the ground. I don't need to spotlight aircraft. I used an old piece of plywood and tried to simulate the way we adjust car headlights. The idea worked just fine but I did not have enough adjustment to actually correct the aim of the lights. They no longer cross over, left pointed right and right pointed left. Both were pointed high so would have bothered drivers coming at me. Now, using my makeshift plywood tool they both point straight ahead, I could not get the right one to go a tad to the right of center. The left one and the right one are now both pretty much level with their height from the road. Most important for me is that I will never willingly ride at night. .

I have had good feedback on the H4 led . That was judged at night . They are cheap so taking a chance is small . Pm me for cost .

PM on the way, and thanks, BobF. That doesn't sound too awful, and though I too don't intend to do any more night riding than I can help, knowing the battery won't let me down if I do would be a nice thing.

Thanks. Noticed again today that when I hit the high beam switch while rolling down the highway, the voltmeter drops almost a full volt. That plus the fan would no doubt put me back in minus territory again as far as my charging problems, so switching the headlights off completely in daytime is keeping me alive. Will likely go to LEDs for those too in due course, but want to combine that with installing a new left switch assembly, assuming Roketa can ever find one somewhere on the planet.

so I have seen what they call an 18watt x 2 when looking for replament headlight for roketa 250,an see n the 35 watt to ,so far no low wattage led light for a headlight is what I think you want Ellpee makes sence to me head lights use a lot of power ,an the battery I have come with 96watts 8ah, then the 11ah would have about 120 watts ,so I think if we have more watts comeing out of the battery ,that should help ,then how much does the rr allow out or rated for ? the ytz14s has 15ah so my guess is it would have near 190 watts to put out ,should we not replace the voltage regulater to ? just a thought ,then have what we are looking for ,I am doing a search on the h4 9003 ebay an came up with 11watt hi low beam 10.000k an there is a lot of sellers that was a 2 pack

I'm thinking of eliminating the stock lights (painting over) and adding a LED light bar like the rucks have, those inside the panels bulbs are a pain to replace. been there, done that
