Post note, starts without holding in on brake lever? Removed all bulbs, disconnect all wires, Normally this would not bother me, but with brake lites constantly on, it becomes a safety Issue. Tried working levers in case one was stuck, no change.

A foot of water in the yard? Was that from rain? Hopefully the scoot wasn't outside during the rain.
Brake switches are NO (normally open). It sounds like at least one of the brake switches is stuck in the on (closed) position which is what happens when you squeeze the brake lever. You might want to try squeezing each brake handle and spray a little WD40 in the handle hinge area where the brake switches live. Try tapping in that area with a small tool to see if it loosens the switch.

Just spent two hours, going over lites, grounds, plugs. Came in to have a brew, and relate on Chinese ancestry? Read your post, I'm convinced the problem is within a brake switch! Sprayed &tapped, still starts without holding the brake. I noted on the right, in the very back There is a small 1/16" post, when I held this in, switch on, no lites. No start without holding Brake lever! Will play with it some more. Thank you! NOTE: After 30 years, I have built up my Land 18" higher than my next door friends . Scooter was under patio & tarp, nice & dry. Such is Life in south Louisiana .

Under each lever is a small screw, back till loose, the black box will move. Adjust & hold, set screw Snug up & everything is as it should be. These new scooters have been reworked by THE IDIOTS IN CHARGE? Keep it simple, stupid! There! Thanks for the tip!

Hi you are! Finally finished PDI! Put first 100 miles on, did some ridding after dark. How does one, adjust the headlites, on dim, I can See the road fine at 10'! Would Like to set at 100', then check out the brights! I added LEDS on the running, turn & Stop lites. Not impressed with stop lites, will have to improve.

Thank you very much, I was looking on the sides! Another Question , the front verator has 1/32 Cracks from center to each cooling blade , I believe this is a defect, and not just casting, is this A disaster waiting to happen?

Yes, get a new one, you do not want it to break up into pieces while your honking at 50+ mph. Had another guy that had the same thing but he did not heed my warning and left it on and caused more damage, shredded belt and had a lot of work cleaning out the Clutch as well. Alleyoop

Left off cover, rode 5 miles, clutch too hot to hold! Note had heavy rains earlier , road was Washed clean & dry. Is this normal, or the bearing is bad? Still waiting for new varator.

Others may have different advice, but I would suspect the clutch pads are slipping on the drum surface continuously, sort of like driving your car with the emergency brake on. What should happen as rpm increases is that at some point the pads "lock onto" the drum surface. Were I you, I'd take a look at the springs and the little swivel posts for the pads -- clean the latter and apply a wee bit of lubricant, and be sure all springs are intact and correctly attached. And if the pads appear glazed, rough-sand them a bit for better "grip."

Those brake switches are cheap mine the other day melted on me so I'd say yes it is possible. They are easy to replace.

Looked at the clutch pads, only 1/2 of each pad is making contact, rough up the glaze & checked the springs, all seems well. Also changed both tire value stems with metal ones, added Dino beads. Set front @ 28#, rear @29.5#. I would like to thank all of you for help and advise! May you roll down the road safely, and for Many miles to come! Richard
