I'm the owner of a new Jonway YY250T performing my first PDI. Boy did I step into it big Time. I'm learning how much I really do not know. I've changed the engine oil, antifreeze , And Oil in the rear end. I'm in the process off changing fuel and vacuum lines, and adding Blue loctite on the bolts. Also checking for loose electrical connections.

Welcome to the forum, Rich. The YY250T is an excellent scooter to learn on and doing the full PDI is a great way to learn your scoot and prevent future problems. Don't forget to check the tire valve stems. If they are the combo rubber/brass type, you should consider going to the all metal bolt on type. The original stems have a history of blowing out at speed. Send pictures of your new scoot. I have a 2008 YY250T and started with a 2008 VIP moped.

Good to know, thanks about the value stems! I have added a Bad Boy horn, makes a louder noise. My first scooter was a 62 Yamaha 50, added a 6Volt air horn, till the cops made me take it off. Sad I was scaring the old ladies, I told them, it was self defense! I do thank you for your concern.

Got a couple of days off, finished PDI, found a lot of loose bolts, loose connections on wiring, Still not satisfied with placement of fuel filter, also added a fuel shut off. Added another ground On brace above the horn, tapped 5/8" bolt hole, mounted 12 volt relay, with 30 amp fuse & 10 gauge wire off + side of starter relay. Ran scooter about 8 miles to check engine and running Gear. I'm starting to replace the plastic , ran out of daylight & time off, I work on a liftboat in the Edge of the Gulf. You all take care.

If it is the 244cc vertical engine, yes. It has a back seal that can go bad, but 90% of the time water in the oil = bad head gasket.

How y'all are, came home to a flooded yard, only one foot deep. Every thing is all right. Added another brake lite, LED, wired it up with neg ground, checked out good. Added LED In brake lites 1157, checked out. Ran running lite off license plate, also LED. Check out. Checked turn signal lites, good. Replace rear body panels, Check voltage @ 12.4. Started up The brake lites stayed on, voltage rose to 14.4, dropped to 13.7. Had to readjust idle, after Warmed up. Brake lites, still on after releasing brake handle. Checked fuses, all good. Question Is it possible for brake lite switch to fail in open, power position? I'm normally good with Electrical work, thanks for any ideals!
