I have a qlink commuter 250. It has no spark. The pulse coil(pickup coil) has 140ohms. I tryed a different coil and still no fire. So i thought the cdi was bad. I ordred one and still nothing. Not sure whats goin on. Not sure if the cdi is the wrong one are what. I dont ever work on chinese bikes so are these three components the only thing to have spark? Any ideas would be appreciated thanks

have you check the simple stuff as the kill switch , make sure your sidestand is up it happens to the best of us

Ive checked the kill switch and i put it on the center stand with the kick stand up

Ive checked the pulse coil again and i got 113ohms. I thought i had 140ohms my mistake. I ordered the cdi from atvsnetweb.com and i believe they told me it was an ac cdi is this correct? Thanks

I found a manual for a cf250 and it said the pulse coil should have .8 dcv while cranking it over. Mine has .68dcv. Is this ok? Thanks

yea that is close enough i would pull the kill wire from the plug on the cdi and see if it will fire up could be a bad safety switch pull it kill wire will tell if it is wirinh g harness side problem or cdi /motor side

if it is ac cdi have you checked for ac power to the cdi ? ali of the cdi's I have seen here on the forums for 250cc's have been dc . Can you post a pic of the cdi with the harness pluggen in ? and also post a link to the cdi you ordered .

That was my thought as well, that he needs a DC cdi otherwise he will not have power to the CDI and no spark.

Wait a minute hold the bus! There are two versions of CDI's on this scooter and we need to figure out which one he has?

This version is for sure a DC type CDI and the wires are as follows;





black = 12Vdc from ignition
green = ground
blue/yellow = signal pulse or pick up coil
black/yellow = feed to coil
black/white = kill switch wire
green/white = side stand kill wire

But on nellie! Look at this version!


Read out is as follows and it's a AC type CDI





black/red = AC feed from stator to CDI
green = ground
blue/yellow = signal pulse or pick up coil
black/yellow = feed to coil
black/white = kill switch wire
green/white = side stand kill wire


Both versions use the same kill system but the power feed is different so we've got to know which one it is and as soon as he tells us the wires on the CDI we can direct him from there.

Buyatvsonline.com is where i bought it. Its the number 20 cdi and its an ac cdi. The reason i got the ac cdi is because the salesman said the ac has a female plug on the cdi and the dc has a male plug on the cdi. Im thinkin she dont know what she was talkin about.the number on the cdi is cf250-1098 070801g30

look at the stator wiring , is it one plug and one or two bullet connectors ?

Im not at my shop anymore but from what i gather from the diagrams is that i think it is a dc cdi because it only has two wires coming from the engine. I believe they are blue and green
