I removed the green/white wire still no fire. Even after i removed it i still had to fold the kickstand up to turn it over. Is that right? The pulse coil only had .058vac so i beilve its no good. I put the positive test lead to the blue/yellow wire and grounded the other lead to the engine.is that the right way to test the pulse coil?

Yes that's the way to test it and just to double check it test it by touching the green ground wire to the CDI and the blue/yellow also. On most scooters that voltage is enough to siganl the CDI.
Also I'll look, the sidestand switch may have a igniton wire on it too that kills power to the CDI when down?

Hello again everyone. Well ive replaced the pickup coil and cdi. I have the green/white and black/white wires removed from the cdi and still no spark. I checked the coil by hooking up my meter to the coil wires. Neg. To black and pos. To green. It has .33 volts and when i turn it over it has 2.5 volts does that seems right. I dont believe it was doing that before. Does it need a coil? If so are the coils all the same? Thanks again guys

Did you get the right CDI? You need a DC CDI, if you have an AC CDI it will not work feeding it 12v from the battery. Alleyoop

Alley is right, the last time you visited the guy sold you a AC type CDI so if it is now correct and you're getting a good pulse signal and with the two kill wires disconnected then I'll lean to the coil.

JR and Alley your missing something very key here , the pulse coil voltage is too low should be .5vac he stated .o5 ? John

Pulse no pulse lets find out if he has the RIGHT CDI first, that is number one without that it doesn't make any difference about what the stator or Pick up coil is putting out. Alleyoop

How do you know? Which CDI did you get?
Take some pictures of the CDI plugged in so we can see the color of the wires. Alleyoop

When i ordered the cdi i was told it was a dc cdi. Are all the coils the same for ac and dc scooters? I was goin to order one but not sure which one to get. Thanks

The coil doesn't know which and doesn't matter. John You missed this:
His .058 was before he did this.

John again go back and read, he just replaced the pulse coil and CDI. The .05vac was the old pulse coil. He didn't mention what the new one is putting out.
