How many volts does the coil put out?

Ok turn the key to on and put the volt meter on that wire and see if it reads 12v.
Test all the wires for 12v not just that one.

I have no black/red wire to the cdi I was going by this post: on the other plug r black,black /whiter to me meant Red?

How many volts does the coil put out? If you mean to the spark plug more than your voltmeter can read some as high as 40k volts.

Yea, I also read it as Being R for Read and Black. That is why I would like him to test every wire going to the CDI and see if any of the wires carry 12v with the KEY ON. Alleyoop

The black wire on the 2 wire plug is the only one that has 12volts. Sorry for the confusion. Do yall think i have the wrong cdi. I remember someone saying a dccdi was bigger than the accdi. The one to i bought is smaller. Than the one that was on it from the factory.

I always believed you had the wrong CDI, try the one from SCRAPPY that is the REALITIVE cheaper one and I have that SAME ONE BUT IN AC VERSION that I bought from TVANCMAN actually I bought TWO(HAHA). Alleyoop
