Never mind about the tensioner. The end of the piston has gunk and a small bruise. See pix via your email.

It's too bad...I was hoping for a hole in the piston...that's the most logical...the mystery would have been solved...now it's back to square one?

DAMN, I was also hoping for one or the other to be bad, the woodruff key missing or the piston with a hole in it. Question the only other thing I can think of is if a PISTON was put in and it was put in wrong. The piston should have markings IN for INTAKE and EX for EXHAUST. The Intake one should be up on top.
The only other thing would be that the STATOR was put in wrong and that would cause it to fire at the wrong time even if it is timed right. There is only one of the COILs that triggers the PICK UP coil and that is the white covered one, the others in Copper color create electricity for the other functions. Alleyoop I am out of IDEAs here BRO. If anyone else can think of something please chime in.

i would pull the flywheel off and check to see if you have pinch a wire where it is under the clamp it could cause this if you need a new stator i have one i will give you all i will ask is for the shipping

I already put a new stator in that I bough from Ebay. I will put the scooter back together and recheck things. If it doesn't start, I may take it to the pros with all the testing equipment e.g. meters etc. I'm sure it will start and it's something small that we missed.
