It might not seem so dumb if you had ever ridden a Reflex at night after being used to your clone lights. It is just another way that real Hondas are a little better than the clones. That arrangement is quite common in sport bikes also. I can see the road at night MUCH better than I could with the YY250T. Sky

Ally, if he is talking about a connecting rod doesn't the crank have to be pressed apart and back together?

How well do taters do in ice and snow?

Terrific! That is one of the reasons we live in a motor home and follow the good weather. So I can ride all year in comfort. Just today I rode around in a short sleeve shirt and was quite comfortable. (We are currently in Yuma AZ).

I can not believe that nice clean Silverwing has not sold yet. 2007 Silver in color good clean condition with 14,000 miles. I would buy it in a heart beat if I didn't already have a very nice Reflex. It is located in Yuma AZ and has a $2500 sign on it but today he said someone could ride it off for 2 grand. All I can see is that it will need tires before long. If you are interested PM me and I will put you in touch with him.

Yes, Ellpee, it is all there. Pick up the frontage road around Routhroff, Orange Grove, or Ina and it will go all of the way to Casa Grande. I've traveled every bit of it. With the construction at Prince I doubt if you can get it there.

I am relatively sure that the clone shocks are different from Reflex shocks. ( I did own a YY250T and now own a real Reflex. And BTW there is a big difference.) Helix shocks may fit, I've not been around those. Front fork seals will interchange. I've done that. I think JR has a thread on parts sources and interchanges.

The temperature sender for the gauge is on the bottom of the radiator.

Based on my experience with a 2011 YY250T I'm guessing that your temperature gauge is bad. That was the problem I had, replaced the temp sender twice with no change. It did not run hot at all and the fan rarely came on, just in city traffic in hot weather.

I wish I had have found a deal like this before I bought that new YY250T in 2011. There is a man who has a 2007 Honda Silverwing here in Yuma AZ where we are spending the winter for $2495. Just over 7000 miles on it Really nice clean machine. I paid $3300 for my 07 Reflex in April with 15250 miles on it. I would think about trading for it except I'd have to build a totally new rack for the back of the motor home and the Reflex does just fine. If anyone is interested PM me and I'll get his # for you.

We use Good Sam roadside assistance and it covers the motor home, car and Honda. Only thing I've ever needed was for flat tires because Big O installed balancing beads and did not install the special valve cores that came with them. About 100 per year for all three.

The YY250T that I had got 2000 on the back tire and 6000 from the front. The front was so badly out of balance that above 40 mph the scoot would jump all over the road. A MC dealer put the maximum amount of weights on it and made it acceptable but not ideal. At 2000 I got an Avon Stryke from the local Honda dealer near where we were at the time. That gave me 4000 miles. Next I replaced both with Shinko. That was what was on it when the engine quit and Doug took possession of it. With 4500+ the front showed very little wear and the rear still plenty of useable tread left. When I went to get the Reflex that I now have the rear was bald and I insisted they put a new rear tire which they did, a Bridgestone. That one gave me nearly 7500 miles including my 5317 mile cross country. Then I replace both front and rear (Bridgestone) with Shinko which I am still running. The front look almost new and rear ready to replace soon at about 4000. I picked up a Michelin Bopper from Chaparral. They told me Shinko was sort of hit and miss--some good some not so good. In another few hundred miles I'll install the Bopper and see how it does.

Beautiful country! I rode most of that route when I came to visit. I drove 16/23 from Fayetteville to Ozark twice a week for the last semester that my wife was in Ozark Bible Institute. I graduated two year ahead of her. Another nice run is the loop through Devils Den SP.
