high performance racing aluminum' - holy cow that's 4 adjectives before you've even arrived at the part name! I like your parts, but I think you need to change your naming convention. You seem to put racing/performance etc on every part you sell. I have to ask.. how much horespower do your racing gaskets add? lol just kidding just kidding I'd just call them like gasket set upgrade or something and then describe what makes them better. '

That would requiring modding though wouldn't it, being that my scoot accepts BA20d bulbs and not 9003.. or am I completely missing something?

... ... .. ... ... ... .. (sorry ...couldn't... resist... LOL) Ya but is yours the 250b or 250a. I *think* the headlight assembly is slightly different between the two. I've seen the how-to on the H4, and even in that how-to it shows that the 250a needs to be modded a bit. That's why I'm asking if this kit, listed as ba20d (socket type for mine) are direct drop-in (other than wiring of course) Thanks!

I think I'll just put a bobber in there on a string with little tick-marks. To check your fuel.. just look at what "tick mark" the string comes to at the mouth of the filler LOL. Genius.

So I went to investigate the float in my tank today, as my gas gauge stopped working a few months ago.
I shine a flashlight into the tank, and there floats the rubber float.. split in the middle.. with bits of rubber coming off it floating around the tank. It's like disintegrating. Wonderful.
A 'fyi' to you all who have also had their gauge go kaput. Might want to check out your float and pull it out before it gets worse. I haven't pulled it yet personally.. will get to it eventually. But this is just even more reason to MAKE SURE you install a fuel filter!

No NO NO! Not on the 250B. Between 6 and 7 ounces that's it! Overfill the gearcase on the 250B and you'll get a rear blown seal or oil flying out of the overflow tube. Not the same animal as the sister moto gearbox. JR Ha! You have to do things like.. measuring? How archaic So that's kinda strange, even rear difs in cars/trucks are filled by the "until they come out of the top fill hole" method. That's even how you check the diff fluid on my silverado.. see if it's level w/top fill hole. Does your gearbox have a dip-stick then or something to know how full you're getting?

Don't believe I've ever measured to be honest. Basically when it starts to come out the top, you're done. It does not take a lot at all. Heck I don't even think I fit 8oz in mine.

Ernie you have a switch on that access door just like I do.. out of curiosity, what is yours for?
I have my diode replaced with a relay. My switch controls the lights/rad fan so when I start the scooter, it's not fighting against those units for power.
BTW.. love the looks of the rubber.. I'm going to do 100% the exact same thing.

We need a how-to on how to add an aftermarket temp gauge on these mc45-250's. Perhaps with part numbers to parts that are already threaded to what we need so no tapping is required.

Has anyone tried the 35w version of that 'xenon' bulb? Curious how it compares to our stock 35w 'overhead projector' bulbs.
Damin - out of curiosity, have you tried beefing up that tiny little red wire (the one that has the fuse in it), that goes to the battery for the charging? I've been considering replacing that wire for something more substantial like a 10-gauge or 12-gauge wire to see if it will allow it to carry more current to the battery. Curious if you've already done that and if you noticed anything.

Sorry I think I mis-communicated. I don't have a problem per-say with mine, it's just a fan that comes on too early (somewhat of a common occurance with this model- people add an in-line resistor to correct it) The point of having you check those various locations isn't so much to get an accurate reading as it is for doing a comparison between our scoots. If it's apples to apples, and we're measuring the same locations and yours is higher across the board, we can indeed confirm that it's overheating (trying to rule-out your temp gauge.) But I guess since you're using a different measuring device than I am, that already kind of makes this pointless I suppose. If the gauge is already ruled out, then ignore this

Try taking a reading of the temp at the head if you can, or at the side of the cylinder housing. I can compare it to mine.
I know for my scooter, I have the opposite problem. Stupid fan comes on the second the temp needle starts to move, but I know (from taking an infrared reading at the engine) that it's indeed still cool. I've never taken a reading or stuck my finger in my coolant though as it's warming up to see if it increases.. maybe I should check that.
Good luck! If you happen to take more readings of the engine itself, post those and the location you measured and I'll compare to mine.
