Anyone tried/opposed to running straight water (or maybe a 90/10 mix) and an additive like hyperlube/water wetter/purple ice? (to add lubricants needed for water pump.) I know that type of cooling is required if you race (so you don't mess up the track w/antifreeze in the event of a wreck.) If you're not in freezing temperatures... think that would help.. after he gets the burping done? Been considering this myself. Antifreeze does more than keep things from freezing. Antifreeze mixed with water to a 50/50 mix will give the optimum protection against freezing and also raises the boiling point of water which is good for hot running engines. Antifreeze solution also has rust and corrosion inhibiters to protect the inside of the engine and the cooling system. It also has lubricants for the water pump seals. I believe the antifreeze solution is also capable of transferring more heat out of the coolant than straight water. Well straight water actual runs cooler than an antifreeze mix; check out some of the reviews on different radiator products and you'll see what I mean (here's one: See chart at below .turbomagazine.com/features/0703_turp_cooling_system_additives/viewall.html" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">.turbomagazine.com/features/0703_turp_cooling_system_additives/viewall.html ) The antifreeze does raise boiling temp though, but ideally I'd rather lower overall temp than rely on/have a higher boiling point. The additives add everything you lose from not having antifreeze.. the anti-corrosives, lubes, etc etc, so not really concerned about that. Really the only benefit antifreeze is giving me is lowering freezing temp and raising boiling temp. If I can start out by running cooler out the gate though.. that wouldn't (theoretically) be a problem. .. not having an increased boiling point that is. I know of guys at the track (back when I was involved in recreational organized racing) would run water/additive just for that purpose alone (well.. it was required too.. no antifreeze allowed.) NASCAR is required to as well as far as I understand. just thinking out loud here..

Ya, prices are normally stupid around here. This is the first (potentially) good deal I've seen in about 4 years of searching.

Ha ha, who can pass up a piece of good ol' Chinese Lead?
Well I'm not getting my hopes up yet. It's been on craigslist about a week.. I figure if it was a great deal it would have been gone by now. I'm hoping these aren't the pics when it was new.. and now it looks like trash. Guess I'll find out. I just don't want to get it, even though it's cheap, if it doesn't run. Don't have the time to part it and whatnot.

Hey gang, Might be picking up a 150 this weekend. Here's the story. Guy 'claims' he has to move and is desperate to sell. According to him, it ran great but during the winter he flooded it while trying to start it and the battery is dead. Other than that, it runs fine, it just needs to be 'de-flooded' as he puts it. So, this guy either knows nothing about scooters.. or.. he's hoping the BUYER doesn't know anything. I told him I'm bringing a spare battery and will be trying to start it.. if I can't get it to start I won't be buying it. If it's 'flooding' and a battery like he says, there's no reason why I shouldn't be able to get it going in a matter of minutes. He says the registration is up to date. 1500 miles on it. He wants $500. Worth it? Any 'trouble spots' related to this model specifically? (other than the normal Chinese scoot stuff.. i'll be giving it a full PDI and whatnot)

No experience w/Pulstar, but I've had great luck with e3 plugs on smaller engines. Works great on my 250 and did wonders for my weed wacker and lawn mower.

So unfortunately, it looks like it's the 2nd one on that site (the 5th one is the skinny version - you can tell by the screw holes in the top being offset rather than in the center, even with each other.) I'll keep looking for a better deal though - why does my version have to be the most expensive? LOL

This totally confirms my suspicions that my fan is coming on WAY too early. My fan always kicks on before it even gets to the 25% mark. It could be 40 degrees outside and I can't do a run without the fan being on almost the entire time.. despite the fact that the temp gauge is reading no more than 1/4 lol.
Great data - thanks for posting!

well the problem is, I'm guessing it's an o-ring haha. Was hoping someone may have some info on how the handle/reservoir etc all goes together and could perhaps confirm what could cause it to be leaking from there (though I"m pretty darn sure it's an o-ring.. can't imagine what else it would be!)

Hey guys,
I've got brake fluid leaking. On the rear brake lever, where the part you pull goes into the plunger thing (not the part it pivots on, but below that, where it presses into the master cylinder,) there seems to be an o-ring that came out right there.. and the fluid is leaking. At a quick pace too.. 2 days of sitting and the reservoir is empty.
Any tips on disassembling that unit? Can someone point me to the correct o-ring to buy?
Thanks!
