check your kick stand switch it could be bad. It could short out inside the switch itself and not fire with the stand up or down. Happened to me on my Linhai 300. Just take it off and strip about 1inch to expose the wires then twist the wires together to bypass it. Worked for me. I just left it off and bypassed.

I considered a possible venting problem but it does it with the cap on or off. I have the key lockable cap which is supposed to self vent. There is a hole on the side of the neck of the cap. I will attempt to run a peice of wire in there to see if it might be blocked.
Thanks for your input.

Is this a electric fuel pump or vacuum one? If it's vacuum you may very well have a vacuum leak and as the engine runs the pump slowly loses vacuum at a idle or lower speeds and can't supply enough fuel? Also is the fuel tank vented? If you're not sure take the cap off and then let it idle for a spell and see what happens? Also .007 is a little much on the exhaust valve, I never go over .006? JR It is a vacuum pump. I readjust the exhaust to .006 while I have it apart. I considered a vacuum leak but doggone if I could find one. All new lines, intake etc. i will figure it out. This scoot has ran to damn good for a long time. It has to be something small. It usually is.

I fired it up today and it idled perfectly for 30 min or so then just went dead. While it was idling i payed close attention to the fuel filter. The filter filled up at first then slowly emptied as the motor ran until there was no gas evident in the filter. Shortly afterward it went dead. I dont understand that because I changed the fuel pump. I don't understand that one at all.

Similar to my recent Roketa problem, except symptom #1 was, would start, but quit as soon as any accelerator applied. Took a new carb to fix it, as local shop declined to tear down the carb and diagnose the problem any further. Anyhow, in your shoes I think I'd be looking at the carb innards, or having someone do so. Yes I have considered that. I believe I will probably have to get one or tear this one down and clean it. What a bummer.

Long story short i was riding along on a nice sunny day (this past Tuesday) and she lost throttle a little bit and died. I coasted in to a wall mart parking lot and commenced to try to start it up. After trying for about 30 min it started and I limped home with it not running good at all. It died twice on the way home. It was almost like it ran out of gas. Well today I put new fuel and vacuum lines on it, Changed the coil, Changed the fuel pump, Cleaned the air filter, And adjusted the valves to .005 intake, .007 exhaust. She fires right up and idles perfectly for 30 min or so then just stops. Ive adjusted the air, fuel screws n the carb. This bike has ran beautifully for 6000 plus miles. I don't know what else to do. I am stumped. I also put another intake and fuel filter on it. Any ideas folks. I sure would appreciate it. . Thanks
P.S
The fuel filter at times appears to be empty. This happens with the gas cap both on and off.

I suggest a Linhai Aelous 300 scooter. It will fit all your needs and will come in under your budget. I have just a hair under 9000 miles on mine. It has plenty of power, Looks good and handles like a motorcycle. I love mine.

I suggest checking the kickstand switch for a short. I had a similar problem and that is what it turned out to be. Took me a little while to figure it out. I just bypassed it and its been cranking every time since.

I may just do that when it warms a bit. That scoot cranks every time. It now has just shy of 9000 miles on it. Best $900.00 I ever spent.

Long story short. My Mercedes c230 crapped out. Ignition module went out. Just the new key by itself was 305.00 plus shipping. Not to mention the other stuff that had to be fixed. Well what the heck was I gonna do. It is my only car. It was going to be down for at least a week. I work 70 miles round trip. I tried to arrange other transportation to no avail. What did I do?. I fired up my Aelous 300 And off I went. It Got me to work and back and every where else I needed to go without issue. It performed flawlessly. Who said these old crappy Chinese scooters aren't dependable?. To me it is PRICELESS!!'. It keeps on keeping on. Altogether I put 500 plus miles on her during that stretch. I would definitely buy another one.

I can only share my tribulations with my Roketa; from Day 1 the charging system was not up to snuff, especially once the fan kicked in. I replaced a lot of bulbs with LEDs, put in a headlight cutoff switch for daytime, and even installed a replacement fan that supposedly draws fewer amps, all to little avail. Ultimate cure, or so it seems after the first several hundred miles, was a gorilla-grade R/R from Oregon Motorcycle Parts, expensive but way, WAY better then the OEM R/R. Haven't seen an engine-on reading below 13v ever since, even with everything switched on. Can't relate any of this to the OEM radio, as I rarely use it. I checked Oregon motorcycle parts but could not determine which r/r is right for my Aeolus 300. Which one do you think it is?. Thanks for your help.

I turned 8000 miles on my Linhai Aelous 300 today. Next milestone is 10,000 miles. I have had a blast riding this scoot. I just love it.

Yep, I think I will get a new battery. I need one anyway. Kill two birds with one stone. As far as I know the charging system has always worked normally. It has always kept my battery charged. I wonder how much power the fan uses?. It must put a good strain in the charging system.

Well i installed it today and I must say that for 26.95 it sounds pretty good. I can say that the Linhai aelous charging system has trouble with it. Every time the fan kicks on it powers off and when the fan shuts off it powers on. Weird thing is that I am running directly off battery. I guess the drain of the fan does it. Plays perfectly with the bike not running. I have a older motorcycle battery that is still good so i put a charge on it and put it securely under the seat and wired the radio to it and off I went on a 2 hour ride. The radio played as expected. I wonder does any one out there know why the fan affects the radio even though it was wired directly to the battery?. I pulled that extra battery to check it for drain and it still showed a full charge. I guess I can get a long time between charges using it. Gonna leave it this way until I can figure out what the problem is. The radio is a good deal for the money imho.
