also I have tried the a new (known good) coil, and two other CDI's form the other 250's. and one confirmed running has cooling system issues.

i actually know chance personally. He is a good guy. I will give him a ring.
I have 3ohms resistance from the negative battery post to the green pin at the cdi. i get .3-.4vAC on the red/white wire
this scooter with no spark is a JCL MC__ with a horizontal engine.

I have full battery voltage at the black wire, ground at the green wire, and I retried the first test, from battery ground to yellow/black at coil, I got .3vdc got the same at the cdi pin to dismiss a fault between the cdi and the coil in the black/yellow. i get around (jumpy) .25v from the stator on red/white (cranking) and the grey/white is open key on and grounded key off.

too big of intake tube can create turbulence. the long narrow tube will increase airSPEED because of the size restriction. it can cause the air charge to speed up as it passes the carb and would effectively flood it because of too much velocity pulling fuel up the jets. try that tube later with a 110 jet and drop the needle by two. just for grins and giggles.
correct me if I am wrong but flow dynamics are strange and mystical.

we break ours in with 10w-40 castrol 4t motorcycle oil. I would not use lucas during breakin. change that oil, put in oil only and go ride the dog snot out of it for 30 miles, then check the oil. after about 200 miles, change the oil.

the shimmy is because they don't balance the wheels at the factory. that's why kymco's don't shimmy. factory balanced wheels.
I would not rev out the motor ever. much less before it breaks in. change that oil often while breaking in. It's the best thing you can do for that new engine

what sucks is that stupid thing causes a LOT of splashback. I love how our Puma Rocky doesn't have that

sorry i didn't introduce myself, my name is trent and I used to work for peace sports (long story, burnt bad) for two years. I even wrote all the new manuals and PDI's on the 50's and 150's. Anyways, I now work for Blitz Moped in Dallas, TX and have never been happier. We are a B&M small shop in the old "party" side of dallas, just east of downtown. We are one of the few shops around that will touch chinese scooters, and do it honestly. I keep gettting these dang 250's because nobody else will touch them. I currently have 4 in the shop now. One for engine death, one for no spark, one for cooling system, and one for situp problems. Back to the no spark one, I have 11.98v to the cdi and just measuring between the two leads of the coil I get 5vdc. I will check the rest tomorrow.
also, I changed the whole coil wire and all when I replaced it.

I need a source for CN250/cfmoto engines. I need one right away and can pay. I work for a scooter shop in Dallas, Tx called Blitz Moped and have a Tax ID and dealer license. I can find horizontal 250's all day long but these cn250's are elusive little critters. any help is much appreciated!

would you happen to know what the static voltage to the coil should be KEY ON? I am getting 5vdc and it cuts out as supposed to when cranking but spark is yellow and weak. won't jump more than 1/8" or so. I tried another coil and same thing. I would assume the coil is 12v like the system has onboard
edit, I have tested all the items listed earlier here and swapped two other cdi's and a new coil.
