Thanks all for the kind words. It's not the trike as much as it is the work and design effort I put into it. They stole part of me. My wife is a drug addict and when she went back to her addiction, this was my healing and my hope for something more in my retirement than endless days of nothing. Sometimes life sux but I bet I won't let some worthless POS steal what's left of mine!
I am in the DFW Texas area. I will hang on to what parts I have for a week or so in the hope that it is found. I would guess if it's not recovered in a week it is gone forever.
If I am able to work long enough, I always liked the Road Warrior any way. Thanks again to all!

Well, I have a brand new axle sitting here anyway. Maybe I can work long enough to buy a Road Warrior. It's only 6 more months on the job. Just wanted to retire and ride in the country; maybe slip off to Waffle House from time to time. I guess if we didn't have evil, we wouldn't recognize good? Thanks for the words, Alley.

Well, the axle problem is solved but there won't be any pictures. My trike has been stolen. I am required to live where I work and am not allowed to chain anything up so some total waste of both DNA and O2 stole it about an hour ago. Couldn't get full coverage so I'm screwed. Those who have seen the pictures know that I have 6 months of my money and my life in that ride. To damn old to work long enough to replace her. I'm sure the thief had a bad childhood and we shouldn't hold him/her accountable. I sure would like the chance show whoever took it a little redneck karma! Attachments:

Long case 157qmj. All the "how to" say hook the clutch then do the outer sheave on the variator. Might try doing the variator and then the clutch, but I'm pretty happy with stock variator + sliders for now. I honestly don't remember what sliders I have. Think they're 12g. Running the stock belt but I don't know what number it is. I'll most likely wait till spring to mess with that part of it again. No one else seems to be having problems with this mod so it must be that my brain is a little cross-threaded.

She'll hit 55 easily now which is fine cause she's a city girl. For that sort of stoplight to stoplight driving, I have more need for her to squat her big butt down launch hard. I have the 115mm variator, but when I tried to install it, I couldn't get the outer sheave and nut back on. Had the clutch opened up and the belt at the bottom, but if felt like the belt was to short.

Little dark out there right now. I'll try to get a count tomorrow. I'll also recount the axle sprocket to be sure. What's the ratio? front/back or back/front? Sometimes my toaster doesn't brown the bread on both sides. The axle sprocket is 30 teeth.

If you've looked at "Chain goes tight", You know that I had to order a new axle. It arrived today without the mod. Not sure what to do about that. It may be that the 150 Viking uses a different axle than the units requiring the mod. Looks like the right axle but I won't know till I try to install it. Winter will be here on Thursday so it may be a little before I try the swap. Good thing is that winter is only a couple of weeks at a time in this part of TX so I won't have to wait long. I'll post pics of the install.

I also had that issue and discovered that the plug wire between the coil and plug was bad.

I built a 53 5 window Chevy truck. I bought it for $750 and figured I'd rebuild the motor and be good to go. Took 2 years and $14,000!

55 is good. Never understood the love people have for the 57. My dream project would be a 57 Indian Chief or a 49 to 53 Chevy. 57 Indian Chief is the most beautiful thing ever built by man in any category!

I spoke with Jim at Rapid repair, so this should be my last entry on this thread. Let me start by saying that Rapid repair is one of the best on-line vendors I've ever used and if you're in the market for an Ice Bear trike, it's well worth the money to buy from a real store front operation like his.
The axle is in stock in the US! Jim was able to get me a little break so the total cost with shipping was about $335. Yeah, I know it's a lot of money but the other option was to scrap the scooter. When the axle arrives and weather permits, I'll start a new thread and try to post pictures of the install.
My thanks to all who read and provided support for this thread.

That's true for most, but there are always a few days where I can ride here in TX. In fact here in the DFW area, summer hear is more of an issue than cold for me. You are correct, though. There won't be a lot of days when I want to get out there and wrench. Rapid Jim is doing a great job of keeping me informed, so I don't feel like I'm treading water and looking for a rescue vessel yet.

I do not want to make Rapid Jim any extra issues as I did purchase mine from another vendor, but whenever I contact Ice Bear directly, they forward it to him anyway. I would assume that he is the US distrubtor. He has been extremly helpful! I would prefer to order from him because I know it must be hard to compete with the internet vendors who don't really care once the check clears.
I guess if I can't get the Axle I can always hook a trailer to the hitch and plant flowers in it. It's early yet. I'll wait and see what Rapid Jim can do before I panic.
