Thanks for your prompt reply. I have purchased several scoots and the common issue I have had with all is carb/fuel systems and having to remove plastic to do almost any repair. I will be ordering the new efi version tomorrow. With efi and hydraulic lifters, I shouldn't have to do much under the plastic.

Shot in the dark here, but have you tried starting it up after the fill with the cap off? Might be the vents in the cap causing a slight vaccum in the tank.

Just a quick update. Jerk claims he bought it off the internet. Now I have to wait for a hearing date and drive 90mi round-trip to bring my title and BOS to the judge. Who would buy a vehicle with no title or keys? I cannot abide a liar or a thief. Maybe that's why I'm not impressed with Washington!

Chances are that the Sym and Honda are made in the same factory. Right now, it's a toss-up between the HD and the PCX. There is a Sym dealer very near here, but if all goes well, I will be able to retire and move to Bandera, TX in the next year and the nearest Sym dealer would be Austin. I have a truck for toting stuff, but I do not live to drive cages. I had a Valk. I was lying to my wife when I told her it was the second best thing I ever had between my legs.

Both the HD and the symwolf are on my list but I also keep going back to the Honda PCX150. The efi engine and the dealer network are big selling points for me as is the quality factor. The Honda lists 14" front and back which might be good middle ground. My issue is the $310 destination charge that Honda tacks on. Do Sym dealers add this fee to the MSRP? I hadn't considered the storage issue or the legroom of the RV, but I sure did like the yellow HD. I also have no use for a top box.
I currently have a Jonway YY250T, and if I can get it back from the courts, (stolen and recovered last week), a highly customized Ice Bear Viking 150. After much work, both are running well, but the fit/finish are terrible. Ice Bear guarantees the chrome for 10 days but it didn't last even that long, and the clear plastic on the Jonway went yellow in 3 months and I can no longer read the gages. I understood what I was getting into when I bought both.
My heart is set on Da Heist by CCW which is in the same price range as the Sym and Honda, but it also is made in China. CCW claims high quality, but no real dealer network, and I have know way of knowing if the quality matches.

When I first got here, they shot a guy in a stolen pick-up. I think that saves the taxpayers a little money, and he sure won't be a repeat offender!

Impound says they have to hunt down paperwork before they can release it. Might hold it for evidence. Routine traffic stop. It was in a trailer pulled by a truck. Truck, trike, and trailer - all three stolen! Trike might be OK. Might not have to pay impound because the trike is on the impounded trailer. Must be a pretty bad-ass trike if they stole a truck and trailer to get it!

I hate winter and nasty weather, but it's been nasty since they stole it so maybe they didn't get a chance to tear it up. Now, I'll have to figure out some way to hide it from the street and also chain it up. It's sad that the world is like this now.

I've decided to get away from the Chinese market and am looking at Sym. Anybody have any input as quality/reliability/parts? Not really a scooter, but I'm looking at the symwolf. Also looking at the Honda PCX150 which seems to have everything hi tech from water cooling to EFI. Only drawback is that it's almost $4K.

This may be hard to follow, but it's how I feel. My wife was an addict and while I was at work, she would run all over Dallas with my car loaded with her junkie friends doing her drug stuff. The car always felt "dirty" to me after that and she destroyed 3 cars and a new scooter doing it. She is over her addiction, but that makes her a different person. She is over me and very happy in her new life. Did my Nam thing on a carrier, and 12 years military service, but it was easy compared to loving a junky. Not whining, though and I would do it again. She is alive and happy and maybe it makes up a little for the lives we took in the name of "freedom." All of this is to explain the next part.
Building the trike was my way to cope with her leaving and it was to be the foundation of my new life. It feels dirty to me in the same way now, and I'm not sure I want the trike recovered. It will just take a while to figure out what to do next. Yes, they did steal more than my trike.

Trying to work out some way to get a Road Warrior, Jim. I will be in touch for sure if I can figure it out. PM me if you get a really good used trike in your shop, please?

I thank all for the support and help I received on this forum. I will check in from time to time, but the trike adventure is over for me now. I have a YY250 T that I will focuse my attention on so you may see me on that forum from time to time. I think I have the scoot any way. I haven't been out to see if the thieves came back for it last nite.
