It was a really great morning so Dr Barb and I went out in the kayaks for a bit of a paddle. Not far from the dock, there's a bass boat coming into our cove. The guy in front was a dead ringer for our own JR. Hey Jack - you didn't slip up here and forget to tell me did you?

We had 10 straight days of 90's and some 100+ with minimal rain. Everything is wilted. Dr Mom and I went to the pool a bunch and the water in the pool (big!) was 87 degrees. It's been too hot to do anything in the middle of the day. We finally got a good rain this morning.

Miserable here too and more on the way. We've been kayaking early in the morning, yard work till about 10:30 then hiding in A/C during the day. At about 4PM, we've been going up and hitting the pool for an hour or so. It's been too hot to ride. It was 98 when we went up yesterday and the thermometer on the deck said 104 in the shade. We've had some wild thunder storms at night.

I just got an email about the TMISC Meltdown for this year. This is really a blast. I didn't makee it last year because I was moving but I'm going to try for this year. Sorry to hear that JR. Celery is a staple around here in salads and stew etc. I checked yesterday. I need to pick lettuce and the other stuff is really going to town.
