Yes the carb has a need for vacuum also and will need to be hooked up. With the petcock being drilled out there will be no need for vacuum thus eliminating the line to it.

JR Fixed filter, double checked valves, re-set mixture screw, but there definitely seems to be a problem with the petcock, even though I got a solid flow when I tested it, but today it doesn't do anything when I pull syrenge on the air line. If I do like in that last video and plug off the petcock, do I also just plug off the air lines coming from manifold and carb? Like most scooters the line coming off the intake manifold splits with a Tee. Trace the line from the petcock and if it hooks to the Tee then remove it and then hook up a single line without the Tee to the other place the vacuum line goes to which most of the time is the carb. Now do also remember to plug the vacuum line input on the bottom of the fuel petcock like in the video. To test to see if the scooter will now run properly you can run the line direct from the petcock to the carb. You can install the manual fuel cutoff later. also you do have the option of buying a new vacuum petcock if you want to. JR

lawless211 Does the fuel filter have a direction flow arrow on it? To me the fuel filter appears backwards? No you shouldn't be getting air bubbles in the fuel line in fact I don't even know how air could get in the fuel line unless there is air in the tank or it's being pulled in from the fuel petcock someway? When you tested your fuel petcock did you get a nice steady flow of gas or just a trickle? This is a fuel problem for sure and even though you bought a new carb that doesn't mean there is not issues with it? So it will not idle unless you hold the throttle and give it gas? I'm going to holler at a friend for some help with this problem. JR

That is for sure the vacuum fuel petcock. Now here is how to test it. Unhook the fuel line to the carb and the vacuum line to the intake manifold. If you have nay kind of syringe you can put that on the vacuum line and pull on the syringe plunger and if the fuel petcock is good it will open and fuel will be flowing from the fuel line. If you don't have a syringe you can use your mouth to suck on the vacuum line which will do the same thing. Also I still believe you have a weak battery. Would like to hear the sound of it turning over with it fully charged? JR

rayg Flintsone made a good suggestion and also we have a lot of info on the Honda Sky. Just start a thread in the Non-Chinese scooter section and we'll jump right in. JR

Ok if it did run then we know it had ignition spark and fuel but the way it sounds now it seems it's getting no fuel. So like with all gremlins finding out what is wrong is a process of elimination. So I'm going to give you some things to check. In the video where it is not even trying to start do you smell gas? Reason I ask this is if for some reason it now doesn't have a sparkplug spark then after turning it over you would smell the gas like the engine was flooded? But if you know how to test it for spark do so just to eliminate this possibility and when checking the spark one wants a nice blue hot looking spark, not a orangish weak looking spark. Video section on spark testing: thescooterprofessor.proboards.com/thread/4167/electrical-check-spark-tester-methodNow if you have a good spark then we need to move on to the fuel situation, does it have a fuel pump or is it a gravity flow system with the tank above the carb and does it have a vacuum fuel cutoff petcock? You mentioned when you tightened things up around the carb it ran better so if it has a fuel pump or even a vacuum fuel petcock and you have vacuum leaks this is going to not only cause carb issues but fuel delivery issues as well. If it's starving for fuel it'll run like crap. Let me know the answers to these questions and if you're not sure open it up and take pictures to post. JR

lawless211 In the above video it's obvious you have a nearly dead battery. Need to charge it at a slow rate 1 to 2amp charger for 5 to 8 hours, if it continues take the battery to a local auto parts store and have it tested. If it tests badly then replace the battery. In your video it appears there is not battery in the battery box, are you jumping it from another source? JR

If you make a you tube video it'll have sound and they can be uploaded here with no problems. Have you checked the compression on it? Hearing what it is doing would be helpful.
