I have a 2007 Roketa Bali-250 that i have been tinkering with for the past few years and I finally need it for transportation so i am going through and trying to sort out any and all issues it has. so far i have replaced the valve stems on both tires, changed all fluids, replaced the keyswitch and turn signal switch.
The scooter is supposed to have a top speed of 77mph but the fastest i have ever gotten it to go is 60, on the level or slightly uphill. last night on my way home i was going down a long hill and i decided to push it a little farther than usual, i got up to about 67mph when it bogged down and slowed to 50-55mph and it wouldnt go above that untill i was back on the level and about 2.5 miles down the road. any ideas on what would cause this?

Sounds like lack of fuel, Did it make any kind of sound, sputtering, or just BAWAAAAAAAAAAAAA and slowed down. If it picked up after sounds like the Carb Bowl was not filling up fast enough to keep up with the demand. You may need a Better Fuel Pump that pumps more fuel. Alleyoop

It could be as Alley said but let me ask a question? Have you done a through PDI on this scooter like go through all the vacuum lines, change the fuel filter and such? It could be just a dirty carb or a partially clogged fuel filter and if there is the slightest vacuum leak the fuel pump will not deliver enough fuel also. How many miles on this scooter?

I would suggest you change all of your vacuum lines and fuel line with all American made vacuum and fuel lines.

When talking about getting a better fuel pump, how do you know what your buying will deliver more fuel, are they rated? Because the other day I was coming home from Hollidaysburg (about 40) when I too had my scoot a little over 70 and it start jerking like it wasn't getting enough gas, I slowed down, then it was ok

I had fuel starvation at WOT right after I got my 150 jetted. Turns out at WOT you have little vacuum and the oem fuel pump just could not pump enough fuel for a 150. Cure? that mikuni works just perfect. I do not like the idea of an electric for many reasons so that one is the best solution for me. john

Thanks guys, My fuel pump is a mikuni , I don't know if it is the high flow pump would it tell me on the pump? I was thinking it could be my fuel filter, I replace my fuel filter last year with a very small plactic with brass screen inside it, maybe I need to go biger?

I wish my Bali 250 will hit 77mph! It will on the chinameter but tops out about 65 maybe 70mph on my Tom Tom GPS the Bali is rated at 68mph+ according to most sources I have seen.
