Ordered a new Zodiac and picked it up Sat - 8/15.  While it came with some problems IceBear is working to correct them.  The first was a throttle problem - it would not work properly and I found that the dealer doing the PDI had left out a screw holding the fixture in place.  Installed the missing screw and the throttle works just fine.

The seat will not open using the switch key.  I finally took the hold down bracket off  and am using a bungee cord to hold the seat in place.  Bummer!  Again IceBear is working to correct the problem.

Worse - there is a major vibration in the front end - the whole front end wobbles badly.  It smooths out a little when the speed is about 25 mph - but I am afraid to ride it with this bad wobble.

So - I have new Zodiac - a real beauty of a bike - but I cannot ride it.  Hope IceBear comes with the solutions soon.

The seat opening on my Magnum -- guessing it's the same -- was stubborn at first but got better over time. As to that wobble, as I posted elsewhere, mine came with one of the vibration dampers, sort of a little shock absorber thingie like you see on an SUV rear gate, was totally unattached, just dangling loose. I only discovered it when I opened the fuel door. That may or may not be the same on the Zodiac, but anyhow, best you can, peer underneath the front and see if you can see a long rod-like thing that doesn't attach to anything. Just a guess, no warranty.

To open the seat, disregard where it says PUSH on the ignition switch, that is used to lock the forks. Place the key in the ignition and rotate clockwise like you are going to start the trike, and without pushing in any farther, rotate the key fully counter clockwise.

As far as your wobble, if the steering damper is connected correctly, then have your rear wheels spun balanced. Anything that happens in the rear of the trike is compounded in the handlebars.

Thanks, Jim, for your help. I used the method you suggested to open the seat - still not working.

I jacked up the front end - the steering damper seems to be connected properly - but it still might be bad - I have no way of checking for that.

I jacked up the rear and found the tires are out of round and wobble badly - which seems to be the cause for the wobble of the bike. Hopefully I can get new tires shipped to me. I can have them changed and balanced at a local shop.

I found on seat you need to go to start on key then go all the way to unlock them, mine unlocks. The problem with front wobble tire first speed balance rear I have 3 zodiacs out of 3 2 front tires were the problem out of round I replaced it from e bay 26.00 no problem now. Yesterday wife and I put on 150 miles each in smoky mnts our butts took the toll LOL

Far be it from me to argue with RapidJim, But to open the seat on my late 2012 Magnum pushing the key in and then rotating clockwise doesn't get it done. Key in, my 2012 Magnum offers two options. Key countercloskwise sometimes unlocks the seat, but in my experiennce still has to be jiggled a bit. Secret seens to be, don't push the key in too far. Just saying.

I was given instructions about opening the seat when I took delivery of the bike. And I have followed them - which were the same as Jim's and Ellpee - I have jiggled and joggle the key in its rightful place - to no avail. It would work sometimes - but not consistently at all. Opening the seat remains a real problem. I am still using the bungee cord to hold the seat down until I hear from IceBear about a solution. But I am not riding the bike at all.

Hopefully I will learn something today from IceBear about the rear wheels and tires. We are having some good riding days and I am missing out on them. I do believe that IceBear will come through with some solutions for these problems. Hopefully soon.

I just received some good news: IceBear is sending me new wheels and tires. Hopefully they will also be balanced but I will have to wait and see. I should receive the wheels at least by the last part of next week (Sept. 3-4). I am really impressed with IceBear.

If you can get the seat open at all, surely there must be a means of adjusting the latch mechanisms. Sounds like maybe the cable has too much slack in it and turning the key counterclockwise doesn't put enough pull on it? I've not looked very closely at mine, but there must be a screw or turnbuckle or something to tighten/loosen those cables.

I think you misread what I said

I think you misread what I said

Correct, although on mine no clockwise turn is needed; from the off position, just turning the key counterclockwise -- no pushing it in -- opens the seat.

I have had numerous people call with issues opening the seat. The clockwise turn first, ensures that they are not pushing the key in farther than necessary.

Crwford - I have not talked with anyone directly at IceBear. I have been going through the dealer in Nashville and this is what he reports. I am going to check with him Mon. and if no confirmation that the wheels have been sent then I will call Customer Service at IceBear. Do you have a contact at IceBear?

I have tried everything regarding the seat. I cannot hear that the solenoid is working and I should be hearing a decided "click".
