Check the very first post in this particular "classroom" -- it has links for all sorts of parts for the 250cc scooters.
Also sounds like you need to give that scooter a thorough going-over for all the various parts that can deteriorate over time, hoses being high on the list.

Most of these garages don't have a clue on how to work on these scooters, I do all my own work on mine, through this forum and the experience these guys and gals have you can learn to do it yourself. hopefully you get it going

You are right richardthescooter, most mechanics don't want to work on these scooters and they will tell you it is Chinese and you can't get parts or there is no diagram or reference for the motor or wiring--of course the members of this forum know better than that and we know it is rare to find anyone to do the work--I heard that excuse from my local motorcycle shop and I told him if he really wanted to work on scooters and add to his knowledge of these popular machines that I would assist him in obtaining the the information and parts for any machine --well,he finally told me he wasn't interested and eventually sold a scooter he had in the shop to me ,to just get it out of his sight ,he said--hehe--my good luck and he was happy too...the truth is ,the Harleys that he works on need a lot of work to keep them on the road and it keeps him busy--he even sends the big Honda Goldwings to another shop in the next county, and is not interested in working on them--well,the truth ,is,he doesn't have time,Harleys keep him busy...so ,chrispetty1,you have come to the right place--happy trails, fflintstone

Closest motorcycle dealer to me, Yamaha I think it is, told me "their insurance won't cover them working on a scooter they didn't sell." (That was with regard to buying a new rear tire from them and having them install it.) Sounded like BS to me. Wonder if they'd tell the same story if I came in with one of their brand scooters that I bought somewhere else. Bet not.

I've had tires put on my scooter (that I bought) at the Yamaha shop and no problems

Oh yeah, if you bought it there I'm sure they'll work on it. Is that what you meant? Take it to some other Yamaha shop some time and ask, and post what they say. I'm just curious. Fortunately there's one all-scooter shop in Tucson that will work on pretty much anything; UNfortunately, it's way the heck at the other end of town from me.

No, these tires I bought online and took my wheels off the scooter and took them in to the Yamaha shop and they did put them on, (Now I do confess that I bought my scooter from them, it was a trade in) but I work on my own scooter, they are too pricey ) I also get my scooter inspected there and when available I buy parts at this shop, so I guess I do have a good relationship with these guys, and I had check them out and oil change on my 1983 XS650 Yamaha Heritage Special, now I do the work on this also.

Ah, so you took the wheels off yourself. I was wanting them to do everything, maybe that scared them off (and I did NOT buy the scooter from them, either). There are a couple other shops on my end of town that said they'd put the tire on if I pulled the wheel, but I didn't want to get into that.
