Well, just be sure your test drive is long and hard enough to get the temp up to where the fan would normally kick in, and confirm that it does in fact kick in. On mine that's right around the halfway point on the temperature gauge, might not be exactly the same on yours, but you can definitely hear the fan when it starts running, AND see some voltage drop on the voltmeter if you have one. If you were in Tucson I'd tell you to go drive up some steep hills, but I don't guess they have hills in Florida, so maybe just get out on a state highway somewhere and take it up to 55-60 for awhile.
Oh, just popped into my head. If you can still get at those two butt connectors for your new wire, you might consider putting a dab of clear silicone on the open ends to keep out moisture; Florida doesn't have hills, but it certainly has rain and humidity.
Good luck with the plastics, I really hate that part.

I think it should be ok since I covered the area with lots of electrical tape and then zip tied everything to ensure it won't unravel. I rode the scooter about 25 miles today (12 miles each way) to work. I've never taken this scooter above 50 mph because it is still relatively new and the manual says to keep it under 40 or 45 at this point. (700 miles) I'm also not comfortable going above that because the shocks aren't very good. Also, I've already nearly been hit with a blow tire and bottle someone threw out their car. I did get hit with an piece of plastic that come off a car into my leg going at about 45 mph. Got a nice little bruise from that. I could feel the hot air coming from the radiator when the fan kicked on but never actually heard it this morning. The temp was only about 45 with a stiff breeze and the temperature gauge never got above 5/16. On the way home, I got up to 50 mph and the temp was around 70 with no breeze. The gauge crept up to 3/8 but that was when I was stopped at a traffic light. When I got home, I turned the engine off then turned the scooter on and could hear the fan going strong. I am going to try again on the plastics on Thursday. Just want to be careful and not break anything by being to forceful. Thank you for your help.

OK, if you heard the fan all is good there -- congratulations. Apparently the sender for your temp gauge is different from mine, shows lower on the gauge even at the point where the fan runs. Or it's just plain set to kick in at a lower temperature; if so, that's probably a good thing, even less chance of overheating.
Yes, I've broken off some bits and pieces of plastic. Gorilla Glue is my friend.

depends on whear you live most of fla is flat but they do have some small hills an towns named after them hehehehe spring hill fla is just one, fan should run with key on or off ,that's how mine works ,the first thing i did was climb a big hill ,an was told a bit of sped over up 55 is fine just keep on like my trip is 30 to 40 55 50 45 to 30 so up an down with the rpms up an down ,I know one thing wear I live its not possible to actually follow what my book say s ,an that's not over 30 for first 700,it was the dealer said just drive it check the oil change it 3 to 4 times up to 1000 then every 500 miles ,a quart of oil $4.00 ,some guys would not agree with that ,couse they drive 200 miles one ride ,well me its just a toy until gas gets to 10.00 per gallon ,if I drive mine regulary before may ,it will have to warm up alot very fast I don't like having to dress up like I am rideing snow mobile ,you all in hot citys wellsoon enough it will be bakeing as well as all over ,then there will be a lot of overheating issues I hope I don't end up with ,then we could probley say junk they are ,I am only testing this Chinese scooter to many issues will have me saveing for a desent used silver wing or burgman

REALLY? First time I've heard that about any scooter. When cool, mine doesn't run even with key on; once it gets hot, turning the key to the off position I still hear the fan for awhile. By "off position" I mean the first click counter-clockwise of the "run" position; not actually sure if it still runs if I switch to the second counter-clockwise position where the steering column is locked. Will try it next time I'm out and around. And the third counter-clockwise position, where the alarm system comes into play, I avoid that one like the plague. As to break-in period, I ignored the MPH "suggestions" pretty much, can't go much of anywhere around Tucson without running at least 40-45 or some road rager might take you out. Didn't go above that, though, until around 500 miles on the odometer and first oil change.

yes as soon as I turn it off it keeps running intermintent just like my four wheeler does until temp is down , if powers there yes ,then it shuts down when temp is right ,but yes anywhear from 30 seconds to a minute ,i though it normal as I have motorcycles do the same only if it hot enough to come on makes sence to me ,alot cars do the same they have made changes to the 2013,only when its hot ellpee, its how I made sure my fan was working after about 15minutes idle in cool weather it comes on,i would guess to say in warmer weather 10 min or less, yes I hear you on the break in I just keeping the rpms up an down ,that speed I talked about 30 to 40 to 55 down 40 then 30,is over 15 minutes to 20,so I figure that wont do to much to affect a bad break in

OK, guess I misunderstood you again. Thought you were saying fan runs even when temp is cool. No fan under any circumstances when cool, but when hot, fan runs in "on" and in one to the left of "on," until temp comes down. Not sure about the other two switch positions, never paid attention.

Just wondering if anyone else has experienced high temperatures due to stop and go traffic and warmer temperatures. The fan seems to be working but it got up to 1/2 on the temp gauge.
