Ok I am not a newbie when it comes to belt drives since I have four belt driven ATVs but I am wondering if 2,570 miles is an acceptable lifespan for a belt on my Scooter. I am staring to feel some slip on the CVT and it seems that the belt is about to give up.

Welcome.....I have just turned 10,000 miles on my scoot and it still has original everything. Accept tires of course, but the drive train is still OEM. It still performs just like it did 5 yrs ago. I did put HID's, manual choke, LED's, recovered the seat, changed the trunk to a better design. Enjoy your ride...I do.....your clutch may be slipping abit, because of pad dust. You will know when the CVT or the clutch goes away.

I also hear a weird noise while driving and it's coming from the back on the right side. I always put the bike up on the stand and run it while listening and looking at the area of the noise--have someone run the throttle so you can move around the bike looking for noise--sometimes a brake shoe will make a noise when worn out or picked up a foreign substance,a bearing can get noisy,a tire can rub on the frame ...check the grease in rear hub..hopefully it is something minor---good luck ,fflintstone

On my scoot...I always check the axle nut on the right rear to make sure it is tight. It will come loose my itself and cause some probs. I use blue loctite to secure the nut... best done on the center stand....

the rear hub has a place to put the 80-90-gear lube on the left side right by the little rubber tube --we use the oil stick from the motor oil check to check it--look for a threaded stopper right by the axel

Oh I thought you meant an area for greasing. Yeah I changed the gear oil like two weeks ago and the noise continues. I am starting to think that iit be the bearing.

I am replacing it because I bought this scooter used so I am doing it mostly to make sure I am using a new proper belt. Besides 25 bucks shipped to my house is a good deal.

It all depends on the quality of the belts, you get a cheap 10 buck belt it will last you 10 miles etc.. Do not skimp on the belts, if they break and or shred on you a lot of damage can be caused. One the Motor will rev out of site and blow the sucker up also it can do damge your variator and or clutch. Alleyoop
