Gas milage

Just did an accurate milage test on my Buddy 170i and found that I am getting 99 mpg. Scoot has just turned 525 miles(too much rain in GA to do a lot of riding this summer). I average 52 mph by my GPS. I keep my fuel stored at home, treated with Stabil, and measure it by the gallon when filling. ;D

Temps here have been lower than usual from April on. Today was 68-83. Major flooding in the county next to us as a result of 3" of rain last night. Sure has been an odd Spring and Summer.

At the current price of gas ,that is mph is excellent--we think I get about 60-65 mph,not very scientific though, just mileage and gallons on average--and humidity and heat is pretty common here as well, with my worm beds getting moldy--I been using old newspaper for food and it is getting moldy--as for gas mileage,I haven't been able to put many miles on,weather and heat --now I think we gonna get some extreme heat when this weather clears up--better ride now ,between showers--happy trails, fflintstone

I run about 50 to 55 mph to work and back , about 60 miles round trip. Last time I checked , I was getting 67.4 mpg. Not bad ... ^) I can go to work and back for less than $ 3.75 a day on average . I usually ride 3 days to work and back before I fill the gas tank back up . That is an average of $18.75 for a 5 day week riding back and forth. I can remember filling the car up for a $20.00 bill. Now it's the scooter MC- 250-B.

fflintstone, like you say, the weather has pretty much shot down the summer riding season here too. When I get a dry day I spend it mowing my large yard!!! Scooterran, I can remember when gas was 25 cents a gallon back in the 50's. And I can remember when it went to .75 a gallon in the early 70's. I put an extra 20 gallon saddle tank on my pick up truck in case so that I could make long trips showing my dogs. Now at $3.65 a gallon I dont do a lot of travelling and use my scoots as much as possible.

I know just what yard mowing is ! I went and filled up 3 little gas cans and it was almost 22 bucks--and it rains so much the grass is ready to cut by the time I get done with weed whacking--not got time to ride anything except lawn mower--and it don't ride all that good-lol-could almost ride a skidoo in the street--oh well, have fun--fflintstone

I have a Kubota 23/50 tractor with a belly mower attached. It is a small diesel unit but does a good job of it. I buy 10 gallons of diesel at a time, not cheap here a tad more than super unleaded. All in all I mow about 4.5 acres and if I am dumb enough to mow all day I can do it all in about 5 hours. Myt back meadow is known as the deer field and we have does and fawns there in the summer, fun to watch.

Wolfhound, in 1967 I worked at a gas station after school pumping gas and washing the wind shields . I can remember .23-.28 cents for a gallon gas. When there was a gas war , the prices went to .19 cents a gallon. Just to think if that would happen today ........ ((*

I asked about it in another thread, but might as well jump in here too. Anybody out there running around on an Ice Bear trike -- Magnum or any of the others with that 276cc engine -- what kind of mileage are you getting, and in what kind of terrain? I just got one and am using it in high altitude, mountainous country, and the mileage is way less than I expected -- maybe 35-40 mpg. Just wondering about others' experiences.

Your gas milage should improve as the engine is broken in o))

Once you get that carb dialed in and jetted right for your altitude you should see a great improvement. Jim
