Hey folks!
Been real busy lately and left this morning for southern California to go visit my daughter and son in law who is a Marine stationed there.
Got my lovely wife, step son and two grand kids and will be gone for about 10 days.
While there we're going to go to Disneyland and Sea World plus with a little luck going to meet up with Doug from the Itistheride forum.
We left about 5:30 this morning and I am presently in Albuquerque N.M. at a Parks Inn and the rest of the family is relaxing in the pool.
We are about 2/3's of the way and will leave out tomorrow morning early and get there by the evening.
Going to be in the hot sun and get to see old Mickey Mouse!
Just wanted you all to know I haven't forgot ya!

JR, watch out for tomorrow. You will be going through some desert country where we are now seeing numbers like 108, 110, and maybe higher in places. Bring plenty of water in case of a road problem. You will need it. Hope you enjoy your trip. Once upon a time I lived in California. San Diego, LA, San Jose were once called home. Now those places are twice as big as in the 1960 days. But I will say they are probably just as much fun. Especially when you know you are going back home to Arkyland. .

Man am I tired! Left out at 5:30 a.m Saturday morning and stopped in Albuquerque N.M. for the night. Stopped at a Motel the Parks Inn and it had a water park and lots of fun for the kids. Left out Sunday morning and pulled in to my daughters house at 5:00 p.m. When I got here it was still 106F which was down form the high of 114F which is predicted today.
We're leaving out tomorrow early for Disney and will be there for two days. Going to see Mickey Mouse! ;D

Wow, that is amazing. Usually along the coast the temps are much milder than inland. Some 80's but I don't ever remember any over the 100's temps from my years of living out there in San Diego, Los Angeles, and San Jose. So just where are you staying that it is so hot. It must be east of the coastal mountains. .

Yes it is Bob, actually is desert. What was funny and sad is when we got to Oklahoma City it was a beautiful 73F. Sad because we saw so much of the tornado damage. We got on Int 40 which is just 14 miles from my home and traveled it through Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona and to California. It really didn't get hot until we got to Albuquerque.

Well, if you are staying in a desert environment then the trip to Disney will be your pleasant part of the trip. It should be much cooler on the western side of the coastal mountains.
Time to enjoy as best you can. See if you can spot any different plants and critters where you are staying in desert climate. Things are a bit different. .

WEll it doesn't take long to learn 3 things about Disneyland.
One you need to like crowds BIG CROWDS! Two you need to like long lines waiting on the rides as in 1 hour or more Three you need to like walking to go with the long waiting lines.
You can add hot weather although temps were cooler today from what I've been told and high prices. A set of the mini mouse ears for girls is $23.95 + tax.
Tomorrow we'll go to the other half of the park and going to start early hoping for less people.
