Great!! So probably the only problem it has is a weak battery. Well we shall find out after the battery gets charged or gets jumped. Alleyoop

I charged the battery overnight and now it is at 14.4vdc. The CDI measures 12.54 with ignition on and 10.26 while cranking. Still does not start. My guess, from reading previous posts, is that there is still not enough power coming into the CDI at 10.26 because Jr. said it needs to be at least 10.5 vdc. If the battery is above 14, what could be causing the CDI to be getting such a lower voltage?

So your still not getting spark? If not then it is time for a new DC CDI, with a charged battery it should fire the plug. Alleyoop

Still not getting spark. In a couple of hours I am going to try jumping with my car battery and see if that makes a difference. Is there any surefire way to test whether the CDI is bad?

Also, if anyone can post a link to the correct CDI I should order, I would appreciate it. I found some on ebay but I would rather go with what someone on this board recommends.

Alley: my problem seems to be lack of power going INTO the CDI (10.2Vdc). Is that an indication that the CDI is bad?

Well one way to find out JUMP the battery with your car(NOT RUNNING) and that should be more than enough. If Still no spark then CDI time. Alleyoop

So my intention was to give up and take it to the scooter shop in my city, but they informed me that they won't work on Roketa's. . I replaced the spark plug but still no fire.

Pleased to say so far I have NOT had any CDI issues, but for future reference, does my 2012 Roketa MC-54-250B (aka YY250T) with the Helix clone engine have AC or DC?

Very easy to verify what type of CDI is on there: 1. Turn the KEY ON 2. Probe the BOTTOM WIRE on the TWO PLUG on the CDI with either a VOLT METER or a 12V LIGHT TESTER. a. If the volt meter registers 12v or the Lighter Tester LIGHTS up IT IS A DC CDI. b. If nothing then it is a AC CDI. Alleyoop

You mean it's possible it could be either? I thought on any given model it would be one or the other. Probing the wires is all good, except for getting at them in the first place. The CDI will be the next thing I relocate to my little under-seat rack, but not until it fritzes up and I'm forced to pull the plastic again.
