My 2008 YY250T does have twist off bulbs, but the entire bulb holder assembly has to be removed to get to the bulb. The only time I did a bulb replacement is when I had the nose off. There is a wire spring type lock which holds the bulb assembly in and when the assembly is removed, then the bulb is a push and twist to remove. I replaced everything with a HID kit. Here's a picture of the back of the headlight showing the wire spring holder and the bulb assembly.

Thanks you guys, Your all right, mine are the same way. And Cruiser, how did you switch to HID..? Did you take pictures..? What type of kit did you used..? One of my headlights have gone out and don't want to use bulb's that blow out any more. I'd like to take both out and replace them with HID.
thanks barry
p.s. what is HID..?

I have a few pictures taken while installing my HID kit. The kits are widely available on Ebay. Damin69 (our forum mod) has a nice tutorial on his installation. Maybe he will see this and post the tutorial. Simplified wiring diagram. Ready for kit install. Showing relay (controller) installation. Showing ballasts installation. HID headlights installed. Ready for connection to HID headlights.

After you've done it a couple of times it's not so bad. Just a little time consuming. Keep all the fasteners organized so you have an idea where they go. Doing a good PDI usually involves taking off all the plastics which is why not all people do a full PDI.

A two prong flasher should be able to replace a three pronger. The third lead on the three prong flasher is just a ground.

Oh and for the rest of the bulbs I have LED turn signal amber 1156 auto bulbs,1157 red LED 11smd bulbs for brake/tail lights and mounted one of these in trunk (third brake/tail), T-10 LED 5 smd for dash and running lights (blue). These can be had on Amazon, E-Bay, T-Mart or Just google LED auto bulbs. PM me for any help, had plastics off many times not too bad.

Help. Hopefully one of you can point out something (probably stupid) that I've missed. I just installed the same HID kit shown in the tutorial. Everything seemed to go well, but the lights don't come on. 1. Cut the headlight wires on the right side light and spliced an H4 connector. I've tested the connections and they are correct per the illustration. 2. Ran a 16 ga wire from the battery to the controller. I cut the original lead on the controller in order to slice the fuse near the battery for easy access. All splices are soldered. 3. I checked both ground connections to the battery's negative terminal. They are good. 4. I checked the polarity of the connectors to the ballasts (per the .vvme.com" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">.vvme.com instructions) and they are correct. Any suggestions? Do I need to add a relay?
