Been trying to get ahold of him but he never answers his phone. He is a dealer in Eugene Oregon for Affordable Motorsports. Is there a Distributer that deals with the different dealers? I paid him $786.00 in cash. I got the paperwork for the title and got a title ffrom the state and plates good for 4 years and now i can`t even go around the block. He never said anything about a warrenty and I never thought to ask. Oh the title transfer and plates cost me another $270.00 So I`m into it a little over $1000.00.

Okay, so here's a crazy question just for the heck of it... did you adjust the timing mark to top dead center when you did the valve adjustment?

Here is the valve adjustment videos from the video tech section: .thescooterprofessor.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=videe&action=display&thread=370" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">.thescooterprofessor.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=videe&action=display&thread=370All three are good with the first video from Brent at 49ccscoot, there are none no better. He has his engine out and like he said you don't need to strip it like he has in the video, just remove the necessary things to do the job. If you did it like was shown and have so little compression that it won't blow your thumb off then yes you have a ring problem or a valve that is not seating well. I bought a brand new head once, took for granted all was well, installed it to find out that the exhaust valve wasn't seating properly. After taking it apart again and lapping the vales all was well and the engine is still running like a charm. Most dealers have a standard 6 month warranty on scooters especially the engine so if you have either of these problems you may have to see if you can work something out with him. Let us know, we are here to help. JR

Yes I watched those videos before I did the valve adjustment. And yes i did it correct. I have doublechecked everything I have done. The videos available online are so good I feel confident I can do the replacement of the rings, but if something else is wrong once i get in there I don`t know what to look for. As I said before I have limited space so I will have to do it outside in my Yard. I live in an 8 by 20 Utility Trailor that I have fixed up to model a Man Cave that I saw Online. I have all the basics except running water and I am able to bring that in. I have been Living Small for 12 years now and wouldn`t have it any other way.

Sorry that you've had such a hard time with this scooter and we do have help in the tech section for the ring job and all of us here to guide you too and we're here night and day.
Also if you start taking it apart after you remove the valve head assembly take it and use like some WD-40 and fill the valve seats (with the valves in) up. Watch to see if the WD-40 leaks through and drips out from the other side.
If this happens then it's not the rings but a bad valve or not seated properly. You can go to the local auto parts, buy some lapping compound and a hand stopper valve spinning tool and seat the valve properly if it's not a burned valve.
Then all you need is a new head gasket and put it back together.

I`m a little reluctant about taking it apart before i have the parts to fix it. Can you advise me on what to buy to start and where i can get them. Depending on the cost I may have to wait until I can get everything or not.

OK I`m going to go ahead without any new parts because I don`t want to buy anything I don`t need. I pulled the motor this morning by myself. I`m going to watch a couple of videos maybe twice before i go any further. Wish me Luck!

Look at the rings on the Piston see if any are broke, stuck or partially welded in the groves. Check if the rings spring in and out around the piston. Did you take out the jug(the part that the piston goes up and down in or did you just the head off(rocker and valve portion).
Also make sure the GAPS on each ring do NOT LINE up with one another that is like having a channel from ring to ring and will cause compression loss.
If you can take some pictures of the piston and rings that would help also the underneath of the Head to see the valves. Alleyoop

Like I said before i can`t take pictures. If i buy a big bore kit say 49cc to 80cc will that give me everything i need to put it back together and have it fixed at the same time. I haven`t taken the piston off yet but the rings look to be real loose. The only ones that are tight are the curly one.s The rest appear to be sprung out and the gap is 1/4 inch or bigger. it would be smaller if they were compressed and fit tight around the cyclender but they are loose. also looking at the valves from the bottom they appear to be a little burnt but not damaged too much. Am waiting for an answer before i buy the kit or anything for that matter.

I have about $80.00 bucks in the bank and i cannot afford a video camera before i find out if a kit will solve my problems and price one. Otherwise I`m goin to have to wait until i can get the money , Probably 3 weeks and I`m going to starve for the next month if I can`t get everything to fix it for that. I don`t mean to be abrupt but I am very limited on cash and right now I`m stuck between a rock and a hard spot. I don`t even know if i have the tools to put this thing back together. I know i don`t havea ring expander and i don`t know what else i am going to need.

I`m sorry for that last post it`s just that I started out with a new scooter and now I have 2 boxes of junk. I bought the scoot with the money i received from my mothers estate, rest her soul. And there is no more.
