Hi everyone, I have a 2011 Jonway YY250t and one of the headlights went out (it's not the fuse, one bulb, works on high beam but not running lights) Could anyone by chance tell me the part # for that bulb and a step by step on how to remove what parts to get to the bulb and replacing it? I'd really appreciate since I'm finally taking my license test soon and I don't want them giving me fuss for the bulb being out. Thanks!!

Most likely the same as on my BMS. You should be able to reach the back of the bulb via the front wheel. Rotate and pull out the bulb. Otherwise, you'll need to de-mount the dashboard to get to there.

If you have the Honda Reflex clone body style like my scoot the front has to come off. Attachments:

Also if you have the Honda clone you can only remove the front panel, windshield, two bolts near top front and two screws below. Then start removing side panel screws from top to bottom until you can tip the front enough to work on the lights with some difficulty with a flashlight and remove the plastic cover on the back of the light and change the bulb. I never did this as my bulbs are still OK. But when I took my front clear off I found that the reinstall was a severe problem. Four of the retainer screws are behind the wheel and attach the front panel to the plastic cover in front of the gas tank area. It took me forever to get that taken care of. But using my method allowed me to get in, remove and replace the right and left lights while attempting to correct the aim. Three screws on each lamp if you want to do that. But try to remove the rubber cap on the back of the light and see if you can extract the bulbs that way.
Another way that may be tried would be to come up from underneath or thru the front opening with the front panel off and see if you can remove the plastic cover and remove the bulb that way.
Some mental gymnastic efforts going on here as removing and replacing the entire front is a real pain in the butt. I can reach the plastic cover going up from below but have not attempted to remove and replace the bulbs. That will be the first thing I try if my bulbs fail. Then maybe add the hole in the center by removing the front panel. And sequentially until I find a way to change the bulbs. Last would be the total removal of the front panels. .

Bob, Because of this clip to hold your bulb in, underneath may not be a good choice. Attachments:

OK Richard, are you saying the bulb and socket will not turn and release then pull out through the hole?
If so then I would still stop with just the upper few bolts and screws removed so I can take out the three screws that hold the lamp to the front panel. Disconnect the lamp cable at the connector. Take the lamp out. Remove the lamp housing from the lens. Then remove and replace the bulb on the work bench. Repeat in reverse to reinstall.
I am sure I can do that.
Never again going to take the entire front panel off except in a major emergency situation. Something like replacing the fork. .

Bob, That's a good idea I never thought about doing it that way, that could work if you could get the front end off enough to get into it. I do agree with you, it was a pain to take off and put on. I should have know that you would come up with another good idea Bob, it will turn when you remove that clip.

Well Richard, it is a tight squeeze way to do things. But I did that a couple times while playing with the head light adjustment. Put a towel over the front fender as the loose front panel will likely slip down and mark it. .

I am new to riding a scooter and recently bought a used 2011 Jonway yy250t and the left headlight works in hi-beam, but not in normal. I purchased a new S2 35watt bulb and loosened the two 10mm bolts above the front wheel. I then removed the tow phillips head screws under the windshield in the vent area. That did not allow the front cover to move and I hate to take off much more without really knowing what I am doing. Could you give me a diagram or the fewest things I need to remove to get at the headlight? I have read that removing the front cowling and replacing is very difficult.

On my 2011 Roketa, which also has a YY250T sticker on it, removing a headlight bulb also required removing (and later reinstalling) that little clip, and it was a tricky job, requiring three hands and needlenose pliers and what have you. (And all that AFTER mostly removing the front plastics.) Dropped screws down into the light housing, had to fish them out with a magnet stick, etc., etc., etc. Can't swear yours will be the same, but strong possibility.
Also, the bulb itself turned out to be different than what I expected from looking at part lists, so get the old one out first before buying a replacement. I have a thread on this somewhere, if I can find it I'll edit this to include that info.
******** quoting from my other thread:
As many know, I've been trying to "down-amp" as much as possible on my Roketa, and the headlight bulbs were the last thing in queue -- Tvnacman and I were chatting back and forth about getting the correct bulb. First thought it was going to be the common H4, but when I had the plastic off recently it turned out mine are S2's. Tvnacman didn't have an LED equivalent or know of one, but I just discovered that S2 is allegedly the same as BA20D, and if you google around for that, you'll get several hits in various wattages that at least LOOK like they would work. Unfortunately I've now put all my plastic back on, and am not about to pull it all again just for this, but next time I'll probably get a pair and install them. So anyone with S2's wanting to go LED, thought you might find that information useful.
