when the regulator is pluged in the ac voltage gets loaded down by the regulator . Like I said the black wire off the regulator disconnect it from the switched power and ground it the charging voltage should go up , just be carefull don't do it for long just enough to get a reading ." Recheck yellow to yellow voltage reved up like 4 or 5 thousand rpm and hold it , it will creap up , you should get 40- 60 vac . " 40 to 60 vac is very very important !!!!

Dennis , I'm waiting to see what you get with the black wire off and reved up , and with the black wire grounded reved up . I checked the flywheel I'm not getting 11 , I'm going to try to get the iron filings . I will have to ask around .

I did the test and with the black wire off or grounded and rev'd up it made no difference...... measuring the dcv
looks like I am going to need a new R/R 7 wire

Yes , Just you are correct , Dennis and I had a conversation about this . At the time I sent you yours I was not aware of it I discovered it after . On the plus side of it it is working , I'm working on getting some answers and figuring out a better way to check them . What I explained to Dennis is that I'm unsure of the magnets in the flywheel , However I'm sure it works .
What my plan is , is to get iron filings put paper over the flywheel then sprinkle the filings over the paper , so I can see the magnetic field to get a better count . I ran a piece of ferrious around the flywheel and counted I did it a few times and got different numbers . Feeling and counting and seeing and counting are different . I'm looking for iron fillings I don't know where to get them .

so heres a thing I was thinking about...what is the ID measurement of the flywheels out there? I know that the one I removed ( 8 pole ) and the one I ordered that was supposed to be 11 pole but has 8 magnets is different .....so what is correct ? even though they both fit over the stator ?

So it seems like no vendors clain 11 magnets , there is a difference in the od of the 6pole and 11pole stators . I took some pictures with the caliper . I have many parts if your looking for measurments let me know I will be happy to answer any questions . s1214.photobucket.com/albums/cc483/tvnacman/stator/I'm going to send an email about this to the supplier and try to find out if the 11 magnet magneto is in existence .
