The following is what I had posted on another forum. Just information for the members here. Nov. 2, 2013 where in the post did I state any reason for leaving. Later that day, I received a message from ADMIN Mike: I don't have a clue where he came up with what he is saying. Those that know me know that I am on boards (since 2008) for more than just advertising. In fact, in the beginning I didn't even have a banner ad. Anyways, I looked on the boards and my goodbye post had been removed, however, all my posts had be reposted WITHOUT my permission. My account was still active but, had been disabled so I could not post anything. I then replied to his message: I did check and I still had access to my signature block, so I editted it to read that I had deleted my posts, they were re added by ADMN without my permission and that they had 24 hours to remove them. This morning, I checked to see if anything had been done only to find out that I had been banned, no access, however, my posts were still there and the word "banned" was under my name. My signature block had been deleted. No where in the registration agreement for Scootdawg.net does it say anything about posts being the property of the site. VBullentin, which is the software that they use, has a TOS. Line 14 states: 14. All logos and trademarks in this site are property of their respective owner. The comments are property of their posters, all the rest © 2006 by INTERNET BRANDS. So Scootdawg.net is in violation of that TOS. I guess I should have known better with all the "stuff" over the take over with the original ScootDawg was going on and how ADMIN Mike handled that. Hind site is always 20/20. In a nutshell, the reason for this post is to educate those that may not know and to warn you that even tho you think you own the material that you post, the ADMIN of a site can ban you and keep your material posted for personal gain. Admins can make money off their site from paid advertisers. The amount paid is tied to how big the forum is and how active, measured by posts. Basically, what he is doing is fraud and possibly copyright infringement! Thank Goodness most sites do not operate this way!! Jim Nov. 4, 2013 I talked with my lawyer this AM. Because of having a business, I have had a lawyer for years and not only that he is a friend. While talking to me he looked at both the TOS for VBullentin and Scootdawg.net. His professional opinion is that I do in fact own the material. Since I deleted the material, ADMIN Mike reposted it , I posted to have it removed in my signature, and that ADMN Mike had banned me so I can not contact him or post on that board, his advice for me is to contact GO Daddy ( Scootdawg's domain issuer ) and VBullentin ( Software he uses ) and request action/advice from them. Emails are sent. He also gave me a bill for his services; a free oil change! LOL! Nice to have friends in high places LMAO. So now it is wait and see. Some of you may wonder why am I going thru all this, the answer is simple, I am the kind of guy that not only protects what is mine, but, hopefully avoid it happening to someone else, which is more important. Have a great day Jim ( I may have taken my ball, but I have not gone home yet!)

Sad to say the service part and or technical help or what not is not worth the paper or page it was written on. You bought it you own it as they say is usually what happens. my .02 Alleyoop Sad to say, that in too many cases, that statement is true, esp when buying from a Volume internet dealer. But, there are still a few of us around that DO provide great service and technical support and have very happy customers to back it up. In todays world the term service just isn't around any more. Older folks, like Alley and Myself, remember the days of real service, go to the gas station and not only have your gas pumped for you but, your fluids checked, air pressure in your tires checked and all your windows washed. Go to the grocery store and have your purchases carried out to the car, ect. Today you are lucky to get a thank you from the cashier. My .02 Jim

Other than Ice Bear, which charges Top Dollar Plus Humongous Shipping and Handling, anybody know where I might be able to buy a key blank for the TRUNK that comes with Ice Bear's Magnum? I lost one set of my keys; was able to find a creative locksmith to make me a second ignition key (believe he used a Yamaha blank and did a little creative filing), but the trunk key stumped him. I can live with one, but there's a comforting feeling from having a spare. Ice Bear doesn't sell them anyways

Okay, I did talk to Ice Bear today, can you say Major SCAM!!!!!!!
Speaking only about the Ice Bear Products.
She has never heard of these people nor has her Husband ( The Owner ). The Ice Bear factory does not directly sell to any other company in China. Also this company is NOT a dealer for Ice Bear in any way shape of form. To many major flags, esp Payment by Western Union or credit card and not shipping for up to 60 days later. That is too late for a dispute with Paypal or most credit cards.
So there you have it buyer beware .

Or do you drop ship from Ice Bear? If you actually open every crate that is a great deal. *Free Delivery Notification ($15 Value) Shipping companies always notify the customer before residential delivery to ensure someone is there to accept delivery and sign for it at no extra charge. *Free Manual Handbook & Tool Kit ($29 Value) Don't all scooters/trikes come with this from the Factory? *Free MSO/MCO Registration Documents ($55 Value)I have always loved this one. The MCO is sent directly to you for signature and it costs you a stamp to mail it to the customer. So your signature is worth appox, $54.50? *Free 1 Year Engine and Frame Warranty ($99 Value) Again free from Ice Bear where does the value come from? *Free Life Time Toll Free Technical Support riceless) Yes it is! *Free Lockable Trunk with built in Back Rest Again free from the factory. *Free Liftgate Service ($45.00 value) When you advertise free shipping isn't this free anyways? * Free Residential Service Fee ($45 Value) Same as above. These are just questions that I have to try and understand where the Value is. I do like your free helmet offer with the purchase of a Zodiac, now that does have value. Jim

From my brake pad experience it looks to me like some entrepreneur with a modest amount of capital could buy a lot of common, generic, fairly high-use wear'n'tear parts like filters, belts, brake pads on EBay, stock them in his garage, and market them Craigslist-style at, say, a 20% markup and STILL considerably undersell Ice Bear, Roketa, and the other distributors. I'm too newbie to know what those parts might be, but somebody who tinkers with scoots and hangs around the forums could probably come up with a list of, maybe, 50 items. Do I hear opportunity knocking? It all depends on what parts you are talking about. The internet is full of sites ( along with ebay ) that sell aftermarket common parts lower than the majority of scooter/trike distributors. Just like NAPA, Carquest ect. sell common car parts cheaper than the local Chev, Dodge, Ford dealers. I will be the first to admit that when it comes to common parts for the 50cc and 150cc trikes and scooters, I buy from Scrappydog, PartsforScooters and Valley Scooters depending on what I am looking for and if they have the stuff I need. I stay away from EBAY because of being burned a few times, but that is me. When it comes to the 300cc trikes I don't buy from anyone but Ice Bear. Those motors are not the same as the common Linhai 250. I have yet to find another company that sells the correct piston. The 300 used in Ice Bear trikes has a different piston skirt and the piston pin is not in the same location as the Ice Bear. I also perfer to buy electrical parts for the trikes from Ice Bear. I have yet to get a bad electrical part from them and I don't have to worry about compatibility issues. I do agree that their shipping costs are higher than some, but they are not the worse I have come across. You can do even better, the problem is you have to buy in volume. A good example are CARBS you can buy the CARBS for $10.00 but you have to buy 100 of them at a crack. So you can get the China stuff really dirt cheap but only in volume. Alleyoop Not only buying in volume but you also have to worry about Customs and import licensing. I would love to have the resources to be able to buy direct from China, just not in the cards. Jim

Yep, I got a set for mine last year for the front and rear to have ready to slap on since I have over 10k miles on mine. All you need to know is the part number and then google for it. The pads are not expensive there are other places that also has them anywhere from $10.48 and up. Just about all the other parts you can get don't forget the Trikes are converted from a 2 wheeler. They take the rear off and build a rear swing arm to carry the axle and the two wheels. The rest of the Trike is your basic Chinese Clone of a two wheeler. Even the bearings in the axle and tranny you can get anywhere all you need to know is the number stamped on your current bearings. About the only thing you may not find is the Rear Decking and the axle itself. Saves you a lot of money because Ice Bear does charge a lot for parts plus they are hefty charges of shipping. I know I have been personally dealing with them early 2009. Alleyoop Wow Alley I didn't know you were an Ice Bear dealer.

Sorry I can not control what Ice Bear charges for shipping and handling, I just pass on what they charge me. I have mentioned this to them before but they get what they get. Very rarely do they ship USPS most of it is UPS and we all know how much UPS gets. They and I both lost a sale because of it.

Very true.
A complete PDI is very important. This is one of the things that people must be aware of when ordering any machine that is delivered in a crate. This is part of the reason that some folks like to bad mouth Chinese Machines. They take delivery of a machine that is in a crate, ruch though the assembly and when something goes wrong, they blame the machine and not themselves. I am sure that ellpee didn't rush it, but things happen. I am just glad you found it before something drastic happend.
When you buy from a lot ( no matter if it is Japanese, Chinese or whatever) the inspection and PDI is done before the machine is sold. Ice Bear also offers to do the PDI (additional cost ) and drop ship the machine ready to ride. Regardless of where you get the machine or if the PDI was done, it is very important to periodically check nuts bolts ect. Vibration is not our friend.

This was sent to me via email
One day, when I was a freshman in high school,
I saw a kid from my class was walking home from school.
His name was Kyle.
It looked like he was carrying all of his books. I thought to myself, 'Why would anyone bring home all his books on a Friday?
He must really be a nerd.'
I had quite a weekend planned (parties and a football game with my friends tomorrow afternoon), so I shrugged my shoulders and went on.
As I was walking, I saw a bunch of kids running toward him.
They ran at him, knocking all his books out of his arms and tripping him so he landed in the dirt.
His glasses went flying, and I saw them land in the grass about ten feet from him...
He looked up and I saw this terrible sadness in his eyes.
My heart went out to him. So, I jogged over to him as he crawled around looking for his glasses, and I saw a tear in his eye.
As I handed him his glasses, I said, 'Those guys are jerks.'
They really should get lives.
He looked at me and said, 'Hey thanks!'
There was a big smile on his face. It was one of those smiles that showed real gratitude.
I helped him pick up his books, and asked him where he lived.
As it turned out, he lived near me, so I asked him why I had never seen him before.
He said he had gone to private school before now.
I would have never hung out with a private school kid before.
We talked all the way home, and I carried some of his books.
He turned out to be a pretty cool kid.
I asked him if he wanted to play a little football with my friends.
He said yes.
We hung out all weekend and the more I got to know Kyle, the more I liked him, and my friends thought the same of him.
Monday morning came, and there was Kyle with the huge stack of books again.
I stopped him and said, 'Boy, you are gonna really build some serious muscles with this pile of books everyday!
He just laughed and handed me half the books.
Over the next four years, Kyle and I became best friends.
When we were seniors we began to think about college. Kyle decided on Georgetown and I was going to Duke.
I knew that we would always be friends, that the miles would neverbe a problem.
He was going to be a doctor and I was going for business on a football scholarship.
Kyle was valedictorian of our class.
I teased him all the time about being a nerd.
He had to prepare a speech for graduation. I was so glad it wasn't me having to get up there and speak.
Graduation day, I saw Kyle. He looked great.
He was one of those guys that really found himself during high school..
He filled out and actually looked good in glasses.
He had more dates than I had and all the girls loved him.
Boy, sometimes I was jealous! Today was one of those days. I could see that he was nervous about his speech.
So, I smacked him on the back and said, 'Hey, big guy, you'll be great!'
He looked at me with one of those looks (the really grateful one) and smiled....
Thanks,' he said.
As he started his speech, he cleared his throat, and began...
'Graduation is a time to thank those who helped you make it through those tough years.
Your parents, your teachers, your siblings, maybe a coach...but mostly your friends....
I am here to tell all of you that being a friend to someone is the best gift you can give them. I am going to tell you a story.'
I just looked at my friend with disbelief as he told the first day we met.
He had planned to kill himself over the weekend. He talked of how he had cleaned out his locker so his Mom wouldn't have to do it later and was carrying his stuff home.
He looked hard at me and gave me a little smile.
'Thankfully, I was saved.
My friend saved me from doing the unspeakable.'
I heard the gasp go through the crowd as this handsome, popular boy told us all about his weakest moment.
I saw his Mom smile at me as he finished his story
Not until that moment did I realize it's depth.
Never underestimate the power of your actions.
With one small gesture you can change a person's life.
For better or for worse.
God puts us all in each others lives to impact one another in some way.
Look for God in others.
You now have two choices, you can:
1) Pass this on to your friends or
2) Delete it and act like it didn't touch your heart. As you can see, I took choice number 1.
'Friends are angels who lift us to our feet when our wings have trouble remembering how to fly.'
There is no beginning or end.. Yesterday is history. Tomorrow is a mystery. Today is a gift.
