My cap does not act as a vent there is a seperate hose for that. I hooked up the manual switch and it works well. Keeps it below the high level on gage and no boiling over when I shut it off anymore. didnt help that it has been 99-104 the past week or so. I believe at some point in this scooters life someone took the thermostat out probably thinking this would make it run cooler......EHHHH wrong. Water flowing straight through does not have time to soak up as much heat before entering the radiator where it can be dissipated. Well at least thats what I have learned from my race car, I use restrictors instead of a thermostat in that case. Ill probably stick a thermostat in it when I order the temp switch.

Well it looks as if my temp sensor is faulty. Fan doesnt come on even when very hot and I jumped the fan with 12v and it works fine. I would like to temporarily hook up a manual switch. Does anyone see a problem with doing this temporarily? I imagine a ground and 12v to a toggle switch would suffice. Also the rubber cap for the coolant overflow reservoir is cracked badly, Im having a problem finding just the cap....any suggestions?

Mine did this when going uphill with a passenger, seemed to me it just ran out of gas and sputtered out, only ever did it under a decent load. Turn it off and back on after 5 seconds and all was fine. I just chalked it up to the weak fuel pump.

Glad to be here, I bought this scooter from my dad who purchased it brand new. He had problem after problem with batteries discharging, starting issues etc. I have fixed a few minor things but we have put 1000 miles on this scooter and we love it. Goes well above 70mph and we tow it behind our rv for our main mode of transport when camping. I realize they need maintaining but the parts arent crazy expensive and they are really simple to work on from my experience. If I want a good laugh all I have to do is pull out the users guide and start reading the hilarious translations!

My scooter temp gage always heats up between 3/4 to 7/8 hot after about 10 minutes cruising. I believe the gages to be highly innacurate.

Thanks for great advice! Ordered the radiator fill neck , that thing fell completely apart. Should a luithium type grease be used on the variator rollers or some type high temp grease?

When you say "serviced" do you mean replace parts/rollers/weights or is there some cleaning or lube that needs maintained?

I have noticed a shudder os jerkign which seems to be in the clutch/belt drive area when barely on the throttle. After you get moving it stops and acts fine. Any comments? Oh also I am having a very hard time finding a radiator fill neck for my 250....nobody seems to have parts in stock.

Well after pulling most of the body off of my BMS 250 the only conclusion I have is that both my handle brake switches went bad at once. Here are my questions 1. Two wires come from each handle to a connector that goes into one wire, one black/red the other green/yellow. The black/red wire seems to be the power from fusebox providing voltage to each switch. The other green/yellow goes through starter relay back to brake light bulbs. I have power to all 4 wires coming from brake handle switches with or without depressing the brake levers? The starter functions as it should when depressing the brake lever. 2. Im assuming the taller of the elements in the brake light bulbs is for the brake circuit? The shorter element is on constantly when key is turned on.
