Well after pulling most of the body off of my BMS 250 the only conclusion I have is that both my handle brake switches went bad at once. Here are my questions 1. Two wires come from each handle to a connector that goes into one wire, one black/red the other green/yellow. The black/red wire seems to be the power from fusebox providing voltage to each switch. The other green/yellow goes through starter relay back to brake light bulbs. I have power to all 4 wires coming from brake handle switches with or without depressing the brake levers? The starter functions as it should when depressing the brake lever. 2. Im assuming the taller of the elements in the brake light bulbs is for the brake circuit? The shorter element is on constantly when key is turned on.

First of all welcome to the forum! All of your equations are correct different scooters have different color wires but generally the green/yellow is universal on the brake light wire. Power is fed to both brake switches and then they both send power out and join together to a single wire headed to the starter relay and brake lights. This is one side of the starter relay circuit and when you push the start button you are sending the negative side of the relay circuit. Good job and again we're glad you're here. JR

Glad to be here, I bought this scooter from my dad who purchased it brand new. He had problem after problem with batteries discharging, starting issues etc. I have fixed a few minor things but we have put 1000 miles on this scooter and we love it. Goes well above 70mph and we tow it behind our rv for our main mode of transport when camping. I realize they need maintaining but the parts arent crazy expensive and they are really simple to work on from my experience. If I want a good laugh all I have to do is pull out the users guide and start reading the hilarious translations!
