I have tried everything suggested for getting this damn thing out. it just won't budge. are there any other options besides taking it out? The PO had some sort of sealant on it. I figure I can just do that for now. If it starts leaking again, I'll just put more on it. it is fairly easy to get to.

i am just afraid I am going to mess something up. I tried to screw a wood screw in it and pull it out with pliers, but the screw wouldn't break through the seal at all haha... can I get a seal puller from an auto parts store? can I use a corkscrew?

Lazerorca, That just happened to me I think it was last thursday(HAHA). Read this: thescooterprofessor.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=discussion&action=display&thread=1271It will take you more time to clean the oil out because you will need to take the CLUTCH Off the Variator of course and Clean it all out otherwise your belt will be slipping. I used DEGREASER to clean it out. First I got a bunch of paper towels and cleaned it with that to pick up most of the oil then soaked some towels and clean it again to get the oily residue left. I also put on a new belt. The Seal if it happens to be sticking out a little your lucky, get a tiney flat screwdriver I used the little ones that you use to tighten up your glasses and work it out. Then clean the shaft and the inside where the seal fits in and just SLIP the seal on easy as pie. LIke I said the hard part is cleaning the mess up. Alleyoop I am using a straight screwdriver from an eyeglasses kit and the seal will not budge... haha any other suggestions?

I bought an impact wrench from harbor freight friday. As for what I need to do next, I am a bit unsure of. I got the variator off off of the front... I'm looking at the seal and I swear it looks like there is a gummy, silicon looking substance around it. There is also no gasket for the CVT cover. I forgot to mention this earlier. This scooter had a previous owner : here is a pic of what I see. What should I do from here???

I have an incredibly stupid question to ask... how do I get to this seal? it looks as if I am going to need an impact wrench to get this stuff off. i took the CVT cover back off and i am at the point of the pictures I took when it comes to disassembly.

Any suggestions??? I saw the video about derestricting the variator... I also read that you can derestrict your exhaust on some scooters as well.

I put the cover back on and drove it about a half mile or so, and it filled back up with oil again.
