thanks guys... I'm looking at the video now

it is flowing. Ugh... I tore down this whole scooter for a fuel filter? I guess it's a learning experience. I do have to say that, I have learned a lot from all of y'all's advice. if the petcock does go bad, I'll know next time. Before getting this scooter, I would always take my truck to fogg's at home. They are pretty straight up and cheap in comparison to other mechanics, but it is certainly cheaper to do my own repairs. The motorsports shop in town is so ridiculous. I popped a flat, and they charged me a full hours labor to change my tire. There is no telling how much it would have cost me to have taken this in or even worse, gotten them to do a new wiring harness that you generously helped me out with.

Well, I am thinking I may be able to get a manual inline go kart one in town. If I do, what do I plug it with?

I just got done cleaning the carb. it wasn't really dirty in the first place but I followed the directions from one of the videos on the site for cleaning a carb. It is still doing the same thing. Not turning over at all now. and it wasn't earlier today before and after I drained the gas from the tank and refilled it.

I wish i could contribute a little something to this thread besides that JR knows his stuff. he helped me sort through a quagmire of wires on a generic wiring harness I had. the job done before was a hack job on it and he helped me get through the maze of crap.

alleyoop also helped me out with advice I needed for replacing a crank seal. These guys are very helpful and great at explaining things if you have pictures.

alrighty... here is what it will do... it will cut off... I have tried immediately cranking it after that and I get nothing. I twisted the throttle a few times and wait for a few... sometimes it will not turn over then other times it will but if I doesn't go to "full throttle" it will cut off, other times if I give it about a quarter turn on the throttle it will run a little bit and if I give it more it will cut off.

This may also give you guys a little insight to the problem. I had been running it for about a week without the air filter (filter box still attached though), because I'm not sure if you remember, but I blew the crankshaft seal on it by putting too much oil in it and it backed into my air filter box. I was soaking and cleaning the filter and letting it dry in this time. I then went home for 2 weeks and wasn't driving the scooter at all. When I came back, this is when I was having the probs with the scooter.

I have thought about cleaning the carb because I was thinking that might be the problem, but I have never done that before and it has quite a few tiny parts. I can't get to the auto parts store to get carb cleaner because my scooter right now is my only form of transportation, and we are having quite a bit of a heatwave here in eastern NC. the usual 8 mile round trip walk is a bit difficult to do in this kind of weather haha

**Here is what it did today when I took it out to get a good explanation of what it is doing for you guys.

-When I initially pushed the starter... didn't turn over.
-Then I kept trying to crank it a few time about 10 seconds at a time and got nothing.
-Then I cranked it once more and it turned over for just a second or so... when I tried to give it gas it conked out. twisted the throttle a few times and waited for about half a minute
-After a couple of rounds of it doing that it finally cranked, and did fine idling at the end of the drive and me accelerating to full speed for about a quarter mile and then it started "sputtering" and when I would give it gas it would kinda jerk for a second... and then it would cut off.
-Then I pretty much repeated the same process to get back haha : it cut off about right when I got back to my driveway
