Interesting in your comment that you never use the kill switch. I did not buy my scoot till I had passed the motorcycle safety course. If I flunked that I was not going to take the chance of owning a two wheel transit system like my 250 scooter.
I took the course and in it they always said we should use the kill switch to shut down and remember to turn it on before starting the engine. That is where I got into the habit of using the kill switch. I was just looking for my safety course book to see what it had to say but can't remember where I put it. We moved a year and a half back and lots of stuff is just where ever the movers put them. .

Well, you can always shut the engine off with the kill switch and let the fan run for a minute or two then turn the key switch off. That would help get the cooling started but also is a drain on the battery as the lights are also on.
I usually use the kill switch first, then the key switch. But never really worried about the heat once the engine is off. .

I have watched many of Andre Rieu's shows on TV. Always very good. This was no exception as it too is very good. .

Thank you for your comment. With your record I do nothing for now. Anymore reports of being trapped with a whacko lock system and the remote box comes off. .

OK, it seems that I am not the only one not using the remote. Does that mean I am free of being trapped somewhere if the remote goes dead or whacko? How about not doing anything? Future chance of getting caught somehow? Is it safe enough as is to just leave alone or should I look up the way to eliminate the control box on the scoot.
I saw some opinions like mine about not using the remote. But wonder about the long range problems of not using it and still having the control box active in the scoot. .

I have had my 250 scoot for over three years now and never use the remote for anything. It is just hanging on my key chain doing nothing. I played with the idea when the scoot was new but decided to never use it. From what I just saw is that it could still go dead and leave me stranded some place. Or is that only if I had used it to shut down the scoot.
Maybe I should figure out how to disable the electronic thing before I get trapped.
Any comments or suggestions? .

Right on fflintstone. Now when I pop into this thread for scooter concerns I will no longer be diverted to games instead. This is much better than before.
Thanks JR. .

I don't have a clue to how many have seen the 'Open Class Room' post to be active so I look for what may be an interesting scooter item, only to find it is the game and not a scooter item. It is a waste of my time, and several times a day, so I have objected. Moving this game to another part of the forum will not take it away from you player folks but will relieve the scooter folks from having to keep checking over and over for a non scooter item.
I think JR is on his way to fix this interruption of scooter types to see what others are seeing or doing with their scooters. If the jokes and games are together with no scooter posts, that will not take it all far away for you gamers at all. Especially if JR does pin it for top section location. I will see the action taking place with out wasting my time opening the section and not finding any scooter action happening. I will concentrate on the scooter section and leave your games alone for gamers to enjoy.
EDIT: Just noticed that JR has already move the game to a different location. Did not see that and could have saved myself a few minutes with my response. .

Well alleyoop, a new section that would take the game activity away from the scooter activity would be nice. Thanks for reading my post and offering to take it to JR. Since I have already written two emails and never ever gotten a response, I doubt if any positive response will be made. But hoping for one just the same. .

OK, I have an opinion. I have made this request by email twice but got no answer, so this time I will use a public opinion.
I always want to see ideas and happenings for the scooter. But most of the time all I find is this scrabble game used by a hand full of players. Wasting my time to come here as it seems to be active when for scooters it is not active at all.
My opinion is that the game should be moved to a different location, maybe titled games.
Maybe some others will come on and agree with me about wasting time looking for active scooter posts, when there is nothing but a game in action. .

I believe that it is four screws. Two in the top slot from front. And two from the drivers side at top of right and left black plastic piece. The bottom of the front panel is a tab that lifts out when the screws are removed.
I don't remember what all I had to do to make the headlights easy to reach. Maybe that is all needed to adjust. The center part with the bulb in it should twist a bit and then come loose for removal. If you want to go all the way and remove the light housing completely, I think you need to remover 3 or 4 more screws around the lamp housing. This where I think you might need to loosen the front plastics and at least tip the plastics forward for better access.
A year ago my scoot was a pile of parts around the garage floor. Some was just a lot of screws being taken out and put back it. Not real sure what I missed but I ended up with a couple extra screws. It rides fine so I am not worried. I remember when aligning the headlights that I may have taken the housings out for some reason. Maybe to insert some washers to get the adjustment to work. The alignment was totally out of order before I started. The light beams crossed each other not far in front of the scoot. A bad cross eyed setting. Never did get what I would call a good alignment but at least the light beams now show straight ahead and reasonably level on high beam.
Good luck with your efforts. Mostly time and not great difficulty in resolving. .

[replyingto=bobf]bobf[/replyingto]I went back and tried again. I entered my name 'bobf' and a password. So then it showed me a box with my email address in it. Below was another box asking for my Pro board password. So I tried the same password as I had just used and was refused. So I looked at my notes and found a Pro Board password, which was different. I was then accepted and now I am awaiting the acceptance note from the board.
So that was likely my problem before. It was not asking for a verification of the first password that I used but wanted a different one instead. I will make some fresh notes and see if I can stay active. .

[replyingto=admin]JR[/replyingto]Well, it did set me up with a email address, then I added my password and hit enter. Got a message that my password had failed. Did that twice with no luck.
Will try again maybe, tomorrow.
If you do send what you expect of my email I will try that if different from what I was shown today. .

Just tried to register at the new location. It has rejected my own password, twice, so I came back here to ask why, and what should a person do now? .

I have a Deltron Battery Tender Jr that I picked up at Ace Hardware. I think I paid about $20 for the thing. What I liked about this item was that it had two cable sets. One was a two part cable with a slip on connector and you mount the one end on the battery terminals under the seat and leave the end in the pocket under the seat while riding. When home you get the end out from under the seat and slip on the part going to the charger box.
There is also a cable with alligator clips on it if you just want to connect directly to a battery. So the thing can be used for two different reasons. 1 To keep the scooter battery steady and 2 for a different battery when not connected to the scooter.
I am a bit lazy so on my short rides I just leave the end connected to the battery hang out from under the seat. When I get home I just slip on the cable from the charger box.
Prices will likely vary so do some looking around. I have seen them from $19 up to $26 and they may range even further. .
