ok here is the long story about 2 weeks ago or maybe 3 i noticed my scoot getting harder to start sometimes not always it was getting close to oil change time so i figured the valves are needing to be adjusted also i like to check them at the same time as i do the oil change . well i had three more days till a day off i thought i could make it till then so no biggie changed the oil checked the valves they where fine. sometimes the bike would start on one try some times not sometimes i would have to kick it i was working on getting a new battery over the next week it stated getting harder and harder to start then after riding home in the rain one night the next day it wouldn't start. thought i had goten water in my airbox or in my tank some how the airbox was dry and after an hour got it running again but i had to put gas in the spark plug hole for it to start now i thought to my self it takes 3 things for this motor to run gas air spark pulled the plug checked for spark sew spark that wasnt it got the bike running sprayed starter fluid around air bow hose to carb didn't notice any change in the engine so i thought to myself ill bet the carb is dirty lets clean it the rest is history see, dont know what i did and earlier post.

ok i will tell all when i get back from work, the lines go strait from manifold to petcock when i pulled the hose i did a quick check on it i plugged one end and sucked and the hose stayed attached to my tongue so i dont think the hose has a leak

i think i have compression when i pull the plug and shoot gas in then put the plug back and crank it it starts just until that gas is burnt then dies when i sucked on the vacuum hose gas flowed but when i put the hose back on the manifold and crank it no flow i didnt see any cracks in the manifold but taking the carb off and putting it back on like 10 time might have cracked it i guess i dont know what else it could be its a new carb so i dont think its the carb

ok so i got a new carb type 2 50 cc carb put it on still wont start checked the spark again still good checked the air still see no cracks or leeks checked the fuel line gas just barely flowing opened up the drain valve cranked it over no gas coming out pulled the lines and filter neither clogged i think its the fuel valve on the bottom of the tank so i looked on partsforscooters and all i saw were in line fuel valves the one they have that looks like it bolts onto the bottom of the tank says its for a two stroke my scoot is a 4 stroke will it still work ?

ok for all of those who said ypu turn the little white needle holder to lock it into place NO YOU DONT i dont know what held it into place but you dont turn it to lock it, i tried and it broke off upon inspection i was correct there 3 straight channels the legs go down no way for them to turn apparently i lost a piece althought i dont know how since i took the carb apart on a clean table with a lot of light and had no pieces left over and never saw anything else come out except the white thing and the needle so now i will be buying a new carb because i dont know where to find this diaphragm

ok so the litte white plastic needle holder has 3 L shaped feet with the l shape pointing out it is 8 mm round but a 8 mm socket and a 8mm nut driver wont fit down the hole so i tried with a pair of hemostats i use for fishing to turn it but it doesn't want to turn in the channels that the legs go down they seem straight and i dont see any clips at the bottom for the feet to lock into could it be the tension of the spring holds the needle down

ok thanks jr and ally one more question if you lets say put the carb back together for the third time and started the scoot and it still went crazy fast so you tried adjusting the fuel air screw how do you get it back to a good starting place

i think i know why my diaphragm is different than the ones on the videos it appears that mine isn't adjustable there is no screw and clip to hold the needle in place thats what the white plastic thing does at least that's what it looks like
