Just turned over 10,000 on my Roketa 250 cc 54b. The following is a list of parts I have changed or had changed. Replaced China tires at 2,000 to the Avon Vipers. Changed the rear Viper once more at 5500 miles, front tire is still good with 8000 miles on it. Replaced every hose with Gates vacuum and fuel lines 3/16” for vacuum and 1/4” for fuel line. Replaced CDI although that was not the problem. Replace coil which was the problem Replaced all brake lights and signal lights with LED’s Replaced headlights with 50w 55W BA20D bulbs (found on Ebay) Had them since August and no problem with the lens getting hot. Replaced CVT belt at 5000 miles but still had miles left on it. Replaced Variator as it was defective. Installed Dr Pulley sliders 12 gram Replaced entire clutch assembly Replaced battery Replaced signal and light switch thanks to JR as wiring was not a match with the switch I purchased. Adjusted valves at 2,000 miles and at 5,000 miles, and it’s been fine since. Normal maintance consisted of changing oil every 1000 miles, fuel filter every 1500 miles, gear oil every 1500 miles, clean air filter every 1000 miles, spark plugs just every 5000 miles. I have always used Sea Foam with every fill up. I think that covers it all. I will say this in the 10,000 miles of riding my scooter it has stalled out 3 times, but that was because of a bad coil, and it did restart after cooling down. It is just as fast as when I first purchased it and it starts every day. So for the first 10,000 miles I am a happy camper with it, although it has been cursed at more then a few times.

Congrats! Speedracer! You've joined the club! Yep got 10, 687 on mine and just like yours it runs great. Also Speedracer I've put my 250B through some pretty hot and tough trips, four times to Dallas and back the last time it was 102F when I arrived in Dallas, a 408 mile one way trip. Now lets see if we can make tham to the 20k club! JR

JR those are long trips you made. You have a more trust in the 250B then I do. Let's shoot for the 15,000 mile club first and see how it goes from there.

My speedo isn't off by much at all. I checked it several times with my GPS. If I am doing 50 on the scooter the GPS is reading 48. As far as miles go. I know exactly by my car the distance to the local convenience store which is 1.9 miles. My scooter will show 2 miles. So I am not worried about how many miles are on it. Chino or American miles 10,000 is still a lot.

I had just rolled over 14,000 miles on my 2007 JCL MP250 when I got run over by an out of control car. Engine oil was changed at 300 miles and then at 1,000 miles and every 1,000 miles after that. Valves were checked and adjusted at 300 and 1,000 miles and then checked without need of further adjustment every 3,000 miles until the scoot was totalled in the wreck. Final drive oil was changed at 300 and 1,000 miles and then every 3,000 miles. I replaced my stock headlight bulbs with BA20D 35 watt halogen lamps. I did not want to chance using 55 watt lamps due to the Shark amplifier, speakers, and XM Satellite radio audio system I was running on it. This Scoot replaced a TANK 250 with a CF-Moto engine. I rolled up over 60,000 miles on it using the same service intervals. It had started using oil and was blowing blue smoke. The body panels were ragged and needed replacement. The radiator was weeping around the solder joints and needed to be replaced too. After adding up the cost to rebuild the old TANK or just buying the new JCl, the new JCL won the low bid contract. I still have some of the old TANK Scoot. I've been selling parts of it to a couple of people that have that model as well.

n4zou the first thing is good to hear you are still with us. We are no match for a car or truck. It's a shame your scooter was destroyed, but turning over 14,000 just shows if you do the maintenance they can go a long way for the money we pay for them. Glad you can write about it.

Me too! I was very lucky. I'm ordering a new Linhai AEOLUS 300 in a few more weeks. The weather here in Alabama is starting to break and I have completely recovered from the wreck. It was the worst motorcycle wreck I have ever had. I'm 55 yrs old and started riding a Sears Allstate Moped when I was 12 yrs old. A wreck is not going to make me stop riding.

Glad to hear you are well enough to ride again. I'm sure you're going to enjoy your new 300 Linhai. We haven't had a winter here in SC. The coldest day so far the high was 50. Gosh it was 80 on Super Bowl Sunday. Lets us know about your new scooter it sounds interesting.

i got 21k miles on my mighty morph! the secrets to scooter longevity are: 1) don't push your scooter to the limit/ 40-60mph is just enough speed for a 250cc scooty...pushing it to 75-80mph is just so stupid. 2)do regular maintenance/ dont use cheap kind of motor oil..golly! 3) twist the throttle gradually/... twisting the throttle abruptly will introduce wear and tear to the internal moving parts severely... shet! 4) if its raining a lot in your area( like in seattle) it will be wise to temporarily plug the muffler exhaust hole and the transmission/CVT vents with plastic grocery bags to prevent moisture from entering and rust out the clutch bell/ and remember that the muffler exhaust hole leads to the exhaust ports and the engine block. do not under estimate it. mind you! hellya! 5) and here listen, the harshest (harsh-est) moment and the most damaging moment in a scooters life is when you start the engine in the morning when all the motor oil settled down in the reservoir all night, leaving the pistons and engine block with less or no oil at all. minimal friction happens during this time,no good!!.,,solution??--> mix some additive on your motor oil, preferrably the one with teflon, particles that clings to the pistons and block, so everytime you start your scooter in the morning you know it is protected....
good luck guys!

Luke to add to starting the scooter in the morning it is best to let it idle a minute or so to work that oil up and not start, rev, and take off. We need to be careful as we only have one cylinder.
