OK, this might seem trivial, but what is the proper way to remove and re-install the bodywork on some of the scooters. Example: I have a 2006 Lindhai 260 Aeobus and from time to time need to take off the lower panels near the back. They have a slot with a nub (not to be confused with a great cigar). They do not like being taken apart OR re-installed. Is there something missing here. Want to try grease or something non-staining. How about one of those great videos even. Enjoy the videos and hope people send more in. Bu the way, I went with regular motorcycle bars instead if the small cramped ones that were encased in plastic. little wider and nicer to look at. A little about me, mid 55s, started riding in 1967. Have owned 40+ motorcycles and this is my first scooter. Also a Shriner and ride in the parades, and support our military 100%

Welcome to the forum and I moved your post here to the Chinese 250 section. I'm very familiar with the engine on this scooter and even have some 260 manuals and wiring diagrams but have never taken one apart.
But I have heard of the troubles people have getting the back apart. Got a friend on the forum that has one and he knows a lot of tricks so I'll see if I can wake him up and get him to add some advice.
Again Welcome to the forum.

Welcome Johnnyrock I have about the same story as yours. I rode and owned motorcycles from 1982 through 1994. Decided to go chinese Honda reflex clone in 2007 Ive been happy up till the time I crossed the leads while jumping the battery (recently). I was having fits on what to do untill I found this forum. I'm happy to say i'm on the road to recovery with the help of JR and Cruiser. Jr is the electrical guru on chinese scoots and crusier has a good working one to test out theory. I'm retired military that retired for the second time so my scoot saves us a lot of gas (money). and of course I also support our military especially wounded warrior members (mind and body). Again Welcome

I good plastic welding kit seems to work well on other brands of scoots. I know of no reason it won't work well on The Linhai too.

Yes there are several good kits out there andI've even welded some panels with a hot soldiering iron and plastic wire ties. I once saw a tutorial on it and I'm going to see if I can find it. JR

its mine lol. im shaving the chrome and paintin her satin black.
make sure you wash the part first, because the goop will stick really good to plastic but not to dirt and oil vapor residue. don't ask me how I know!

You would think dealers would sell complete body replacement kits and hardware. Considering body panels are common across many brands and even engine sizes this should be profitable. This is done for the big sport bikes so why not our scoots? After a couple of years of daily riding and sitting out in the sun in the parking lot and a bump or two from doors they start looking ragged. Lets not talk about dropping it on it's side. It would be nice to receive a complete body kit with matching paint and a collection of decals you can apply (or not : .

matching paint sucks, even though they look the same, none of those panels are the same color, even from the same manufacture batch to batch
