The OEM 9AH battery for my Roketa has died, getting along with an identical spare for now but would like to buy one with a higher AH and CCA rating if possible. Initial checks suggest more AH means larger battery, and I have zero extra room for anything larger than the current battery. Anybody know where I might find one that's the same size as my OEM?

Interesting question. My 260cc takes a battery with only has 6ah, and I would have thought 9 is way high for a scooter battery already. Let me know your battery style number and I'll be happy to help with some searching. Waiting to see more replies.

Yuasa YTX9-BS. Have googled a few that are only different by 1/2" or so in one dimension or another, but as I wrote, I have VERY little wiggle room as far as size is concerned.
Was a little surprised that this one went Tango-Uniform already, considering that it has spent part of its life as a spare and part of it (roughly five months a year) on a battery tender. But checking back, it's been almost three years, so maybe I shouldn't complain. I paid about $70 for it, and I see the identical item on Amazon for half of that, so maybe I should just buy in bulk and quitmybellyachin'.
Anyhow, if you know of a higher-AH somewhere with the same dimensions (3 1/4" x 6" x 4", give or take a sixteenth or so), by all means let me know.

ellpee, trailheadmike Here is the ONLY people I buy batteries from and here is your battery: .apexbattery.com/adventure-power-ubtz14s-battery-12v-112ah.html" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">.apexbattery.com/adventure-power-ubtz14s-battery-12v-112ah.htmlAlso they have a wide range of batteries that will meet your measurements and needs. I know this battery fits the compartment of your scooter. It will fit and look at the CCA and AH ratings. I have only replaced the OEM batteries on my wife's and my 250 1 time in 8 years, this battery will give you at least 3 to 4 years life depending on how well you take care of them. Also if anything happens their one year no BS warranty is good. The battery goes bad, you call, they ship a new one no questions asked and don't even want the bad one back, had that happen on a 150 scooter. May pay a little more but you get what you pay for. As far a using a bigger rated battery your scooter will do better with more CCA's especially in cold weather when the engine is harder to turn over and your charging system won't have to work as hard either with a higher AH rating. OK, if JR's help doesn't work for you then I suggest changing your charging system by adding in a better controller to the scoot. That is something that I did last year on the suggestion of another scooter person. We both have the MC 54 250B scoots and for me, my battery was always going dead for no reason at all. I had already bought two batteries and was talking about this when the other person put up a post about changing the controller. I had bought a third battery when told of this idea and have not had to buy another one since.
I don't have it with me right now we can find that note with the name and address of the controller person for you. It is right on this forum somewhere. Maybe JR knows where it is too.

It was I who suggested the upgrade to your R/R, and the company I pointed you to was Oregon Motorcycle Parts. Glad that has worked out well for you. I already have their gorilla-grade R/R, and it has completely solved my charging issues. A heftier battery will just be the icing on the cake, since even the OEM 9AH battery has been fine since the R/R upgrade. Batteries just die in this AZ heat, fact of life, but the one JR recommends looks fine and is cheaper than I would have expected. Dimensions seem right too, give or take a couple sixteenths. Will probably order one this morning.

OK, thanks ellpee. Will keep this in mind for the future. Right now though I am trying to get the scoot ready for possible buyers. Not sure what to ask for it but will accept a decent offer if I get one.

So you're going to be a Scooter U. dropout? If so you'll be missed.

Not by choice and I will still use the scoot for short rides around town, maybe into the country for a few miles but no big trips planned.
My wife had a heart attack in April, she is 85. I am now 82 so I can't really count on too many more days on the scoot. Time to sell before it becomes an estate item that might sell for $50.
I will miss the idea a lot after it sells.
