Ice Bear has released some new information that I would like to share with you.

First, they are almost done with their wall to wall warehouse inventory and getting it loaded into the computer. I have notice the lag time for parts ordering has dropped, so that is a good sign.

They also introduced the Maddogg in a 150cc model early December. Price is $2049.00 including shipping.

Maddog

The Maddog 2014 ( PMZ50-19) will have cleaner and stronger welds on the frame and hubs. We will be offering 4-6 new colors on
this model. Colors such as purple or pink will help our dealers to appeal to a broader range of retail customers. We have recently
introduced an upgrade model to the Maddog ( PMZ50-20) and a 150cc Maddog ( PMZ150-19). Both are available in stock. We will be
coming up with an upgrade 150cc Maddog in 2014 as well.

Zodiac

The Zodiac 300cc trike ( PST300-19) is another huge seller for 2013. We will continue to make changes and upgrades on this
model. For example, we will better the material used for the welds to fix the exhaust issue we encountered in 2013, among a
few small upgrades.


PMZ50-4J

Our entry level scooter the PMZ50-4J models will now come with 3.5 inch wheels instead of a 3 inch wheel (please check ETA
with your rep). We are going to have great new colors as well: pink, purple, lime green, yellow.

Shipping Damages This also applies to customers that have their machines dropped shipped to them.

We had merchants last year who have complaints about shipping damage and processing time. The key to expedite this process is to inspect your freight and notate damages on the Delivery Slip accordingly. Please note that the drivers cannot leave without you signing the slip and are supposed to wait at least 15 minutes for you to inspect freight. Please take your time to inspect the units and note any damage on the slip you sign. This is very important. If the driver is anything less than professional, please let your sales rep know right away and the situation will be handled accordingly with the trucking company. Remember, our sales reps are here to assist you not only on taking order but handling situations for you.

Along with this Ice Bear is instituting a new policy about warranty issues. When a customer has a warranty issue where they need parts, it has been the policy that the customer is responsible for shipping costs. I have complained about this for quite a long time, esp when the part is bad from the day that the customer or I received the machine. Thankfully it is not a common occurance, but has happened. Now, at Ice Bear's Discretion, if a part fails withing 3 days of receipt, they will pay the shipping. At least it is a step in the right direction. To my knowledge, Ice Bear is the only distributor to do this. I have at times, paid for the shipping charges for my customer, and they are now following suit.

Thanks for the update, Jim.
I can, from personal experience, honestly say that if anyone is considering a product that Rapid Repair (aka Jim) sells, buy it from him. Even if it's a few bucks more. TRUST ME it's worth it in the long run as far as support goes.
He owns an actual business, works on these things, and is always available to assist you.

Hi Jim and the others ...

I am a Ruckus owner and have recently had to put it on the side as the engine is making terrible noise and the scooter is not operational after about 7000 miles.

I love the looks of PMZ50-20 and am considering purchasing one, but I am not sure how it would perform compared to the old Ruckus. I had Dr. Pulley clutch kit and Daytona variator on it with the stock engine and was hitting 35-40 miles on flats and downhills. I am 225lbs and 6ft tall.

From your experience, how does the PMZ50-20 compare to the Ruckus in performance? Out of the box, will it be slower/faster? Would the clutch and variator upgrades from my old Ruckus work with the PMZ50-20?

I would appreciate your help and guidance ...

What motor was in your Old Ruckus and was is a HONDA Ruckus or a knock off big difference. Parts to interchange the motors would have to be very similiar. For example the crank might have different number of splines and or diameter. So check out your old ruckus and tell us what motor is on there, maybe its the very common 139QMB motor in which case I am sure the Ice Bear 50 has the same motor in which case the parts would fit. As far as performance If your old ruckus is a HONDA and not a clone they are faster than the clones.

Yes, my ride was a brand new 2013 Honda Ruckus. It does have the original GET(?) engine and it even had warranty on it, but they refused it because I serviced it myself and had some after market parts ...

I've looked around and if I send the engine to be overhauled and to do some performance upgrades, it would cost me around $1200 and that's why I was thinking about the Ice Bear. It has a killer look, but I was not sure about reliability and performance.

I can get the Ice Bear for about $1400 and though even if I spend another $200-$300 for performance (no idea what) it might make sense. Any thoughts?

You got it for a few hundred more spent on the Ice Bear it will do the same MPH for you as the HONDA motor. Also you can surpass the performance since Big Bor Kits for the 139QMB can be had for a few hundred bucks you can get it near 100cc's. But for reliability I would not go more than 72cc build on it which would get you to your 40mph top end speeds or a little better.

And another benefit PARTS for the Ice Bear scoot can be had very cheap and just about all the parts can be had over the internet. All because the motor is very common and Carbs, Stators, Cdis, Regulator/Rectifiers are dime a dozen out there.

Don't forget the Ice Bear regular scooters. My dealer is running one, took it to the WNC mountains, put 300 miles on it up there and was very pleased with overall quality and performance. Strong engine and from what I could see it is very well constructed. I am riding a Genuine Buddy 170i with a TowPac out rigger but if I were looking for another 2 wheeler the IceBear would be t the top of my list .
