Hey, it's me, Rich aka Bashan from Scooter Doc. I didn't mean to be rude by not posting following the armistice brokered by Alleyoop (think Henry Kissinger), and TVnACman (think Mother Teresa). It's just that we're experiencing a winter storm here of epic proportions and I've been busy trying to escape from this damn house! There's a vehicle graveyard blocking the entrance to our neighborhood from cars that slid off the road, crashed into other vehicles, or were abandoned by the driver who didn't think they could make it in their car. So until they move all those vehicles I can't get out to my ballet lesson. The storm actually isn't the worst by any means. What WAS the worst was the forecast. They were calling for flurries turning to light snow and then 1 to 3". Instead the flurries were exchanged for wet snow that promptly turned to ice and then covered with about 4" of snow. It isn't getting above freezing today which isn't helping one bit. Everybody was caught off guard.

Rapid Jim summed it up nicely when he said things were said in anger that we undoubtedly were sorry were uttered. I can say that is definitely true for me. I did things and said things surrounding the ever escalating debacle that raged between Jr and myself that I am not proud of and wish never happened. But they did happen and for those transgressions I apologize to JR. As with any conflict between two really smart and really good looking guys, both dashing yet dapper hunks of man flesh, they both feel that they were wronged in some manner or they would have never ended up in the mess in the first place. The only way I can see to right this wrong is to meet JR on the field of honor with pistols and if you think I'm going to get within two states of a gunbattle with JR you are bat crap crazy!! Whew! That ain't going to happen! Maybe a John Wayne movie trivia contest. Hmmm, no, he'd kick my ass at that too. Oh I know! Whoever can name the most legends of chiropractic wins! Yep, feeling pretty good about that one.

I can only say that at that point in my life I was stretched pretty thin emotionally. I felt Jack did some things wrong as he feels I did some things wrong. It quickly spiraled out of control until the tenuous threads of reason that may have brought the beast back to Earth were broken. Certainly wars have been started in much the same manner. If Jack and I had a little more sway in our respective states we could have plunged the entire southeast into an apocalyptic Earth scorching. 3 things,,(1) I'm very happy the feud has ended and I found another cool forum to "hang",,,, (2) snow tires and chains on the scoot rich,,, jesus I thought you said you grew up with the mudhens in Ohio,,, do I have to think of everything? (3) I get to get away from that insufferable bashan on that other site,, the guy blabs on and on and with the corny jokes,,, oh wait that's you isn't it,,, sorry my bad

Ah, real scooter weather in them thar pickchers! We had a cold spell here too, got all the way down to 65 recently. (Bwah hah hah, couldn't resist!) Previous posters don't say where you are, but you have my sympathy.

Thanks Rich for posting not rude at all. I think some may have had to take some time to absorb it all, after all it's kind of been like this for awhile.

Bet ya'll all forgot about these two didn't ya!  I don't know how to sum it up any better than you did and I appreciate all your kind words and echo the same feelings. People go through rough times sometimes and when they do they do/say things that get out of hand quickly and it can get ugly. It never accomplishes anything and just makes moving forward difficult and hard.

But as we have made clear here it is the PAST, can't change it but can learn from it and be better people and set an example.

As far as the weather we got lucky this time and sent that crap south of the Mason Dixon and you Bama's and Georgians got to deal with it. Looks like some need some lessons on how to drive in it for sure! Cut my teeth on snow and ice years ago in Nebraska surviving a blizzard in a Ford Pinto! Yea dumbest thing I ever did, buy a Ford and a bomb at the same time!

We've had out share of ice earlier in the winter season but the cold has been tough through both of the artic vortexs that have hit and we are one a hi/lo yo-yo. Heat wave today of 44F yesterday's high was 29f . low last night of 9F expected 19F tonight.

Our state low on the first cold run was -9F in Fayetteville. But it could be worse, I talked to my sister just this evening and she lives in Minnesota and they've hit -32F and in the -20F range a lot, with ice and packed snow everywhere. Like she said days with wind chill of -50F and you know it's damn bad when the snow trucks quit.

But what's weird here is cold and 75% of the state is on a Burn Ban! That dry even though we had a mild summer and lots of rain, got rain in the forecast this weekend but no ice.

Got to warm up, lots of fruit trees and grape vines to prune before spring budding and I've actually got my garden plowed and bought seed potatoes and onions today at the co-op, ready for a warm February and planting. Have tomatoes and peppers along with cabbage and other things already seeded and in trays in the warm house growing. Now I just need to get rid of this damn bronchitis that's plagued me for weeks and all will be good. It's actually Alley's fault, now you know why he's fussing about all those smilies! Working over time to put them in, no rest for the .......weary!

Will end by saying, it's good to be alive and things settled where all can just have fun, well maybe except Luke?

Yeh,cold here in NW Tennessee,but only 5 and 10,depends which end of the county you on--had a frozen water line ,faucet for front yard,busted under the front porch yesterday,and since it was on the main line coming in ,had to shut off the main and cap the line--after all,you can't do without flushing water,and the flowers in the front will need to depend on rain for awhile...as bhinch says,life is good...and we talking 60 degrees for Saturday---yea?( Don't even think thunderstorm...)
