Well today I'm getting the winter stuff, freezing rain up to the last two hours or so. Trees down, power off. But thank goodness for my generator which has been running for the last 3 hours steady. Very good machine. It's actually an attachment to my DR bush hog/mower with a 25hp Kawasaki. We have natural gas because I converted my home to it 2 years ago, thank God! Got nice warm heat, TV, cook stove and my computer.
The power lines that run by my house on the north side of the property are a switch link to a large part of this hub as the power men called and they just left here and went down the road, I'm sure a tree is on the line. Miserable to work in, temps now falling at 28F and will get colder.
Went to the station and filled my gas cans up so I'm warm cozy and hungry, supper time!

Power ON! Old generator allowed my family to stay warm, eat supper, take a hot shower, watch TV and stay connected here! And on only 2 gallons of gas! Not bad, not bad at all!

Well, after setting an all-time record for January snow, February is starting out same-old in SE Michigan. Coming down pretty heavy right now, prediction is for around 5 inches by early afternoon with blowing/drifting added for good measure. Thank God I'm retired & can just kick back with a glass (or 2,3,4) of wine. Snowblower will get a workout later today, or tomorrow if Mr Wine tells me to wait. Generators are invaluable, bought a Honda EU2000i a few years ago. Only had to use it twice so far, but it allowed me to power the fridge, cable box, tv, computer & a light. Runs 9 hours on a gallon of gas. Wasn't inexpensive but worth it. Between the snow and bitter cold, this has been the worst winter in memory.

True that bud. I've made it a goal of mine to ride the SYM out to Arkie land sometime this year and see the mouth from the south in person. We will bump fists just like that, or he will punch me in the mouth...his call. I kinda approached him about this before but he said whenever I was going to show up...he'd be out of town. Hear the knock on the screen door Jack?! That's the Bama Bum staying for a month! I can sleep on the porch...no problem....I do at home. I'm serious, I'm coming. Rich
