Hello Jeff B. I spent a lot of time in the Farmington Hospital. Once upon a time, I had a brain tumor that was doing its best to kill me. Cortez hospital could not handle the job so they called around and found Farmington Hospital could do the job and were willing to take me in. So what started out to be a mothers day with the wife turned into a long ride in the ambulance. Then 3 days later, after lots of tests and images were made, the operation began in the morning and ended that evening. I survived and after a couple weeks in the hospital and in the recovery unit next door, my wife drove me home to Cortez. From then on it was a long road to getting my thinker to working again and relearning things like walking better, thinking faster till it was more normal like most folks. About a year later I got my drivers license renewed and could get doing all my stuff by myself. I guess I owe my life and health to the doctors and Farmington Hospital. .

Damn I wish it would warm up here in Idaho. The teens and twenties just aren't conducive for scooter riding. I just barely had my SYM broke in when it got to cold to ride here. Sent from my XT907 using proboards again I hear you in south Nh we have had some of the most exteme temp changes couesing more pot holes then I seen before febuary march ,from =20 last few days to 40 to 50 ,they say 35 to 50 over 6 days then back to deep frezze again ,one day we can get 2 inches rain ,then next get a foot of snow on top of that ,there I imagine its just plain cold still ,then in certain states to =55 makes for bad situation ,as 50/50 coolant is good to -35,forces some to switch to 100% coolant .what ever developes there usally makes it to us in few days from west to east

It's 51deg today and the snow is finally melting. Trouble is the roads are also wet so no riding for me yet.

I don't know any that are bakeing in the desert. We have been in the 30's in the morning and slowly warming up to the 60's by mid afternoon and shortly after that down to the 30's again over night. Today it was 45F this morning and I rode to the post office, about 3 miles away. I was wearing my winter coat I had in Colorado and still got pretty cold with that ride.
I did find out my gas gauge likes to show half way all the time. Took that out and fixed it once so, now I guess I should buy another one and then when the weather is too hot to ride, summer temps of 100F to over 115F then take the covers off and put the new gas gauge in. Plenty to do for that as I need to release the front of the back panels, remove the running boards, loosen the front side panels, just to get the floor off the scoot.
I am in no hurry as I also have a mechanical way of judging the gas that I carry in my trunk. It is a piece of 3/8" dowel that fits nicely in the area under the seat. I stuck it in the full tank and using a marker put a line around around top of tank, location of the cross bar, and half way from the cross bar to the bottom of the tank. To me, that is more accurate than a gauge that won't work. .

have you figured how much you getting per tank? 3,8 gallons is it I think ,so? :-/I hear reality with city rideing is 60 mpg ,they say 80mpg ,going on the low end then some the 60 .220 miles per tank I guess to be safe , reset the miles indicater at each fill up an keep an eye on it ,or just use a stick is probley good,I guess if mine goes to half way ,or I know it goes up some,,or does not work at all ,now that would stink with a car ,but I guess the fact that my average ride would be 50 miles both ways ,I am not sure I will replace it if it does not work ,in your case I would just figure ok half full , ,i guess the fact that they seem to get 250 miles per tank a guess,,if I check it a few times a week good, they say there is one liter in it on E ,I got to find out about the turn signals being oposite ,I did print up that thread an hope in a few weeks to remedy that ,probley only thing that may fail inspection for ,darn inspection for an oversized moped ,the red Dragon with a woping 16.5HP hehehehe

My Roketa gets right at 75 mpg, so I just go by the odometer and fill up when I pass 150 miles. At that point my gas gauge is actually showing pretty low, even though in theory I should still have a gallon or so. Haven't pushed it much beyond that point, why risk dead-on-road? Scot, if that horse ain't dead yet, you need a bigger stick!
