So what is the scoot a 150cc which takes a 24mm carb or a 50cc which takes 18-19mm carb?
Measure the INTAKE SIDE of the opening, a 18-19 mm carb should measure ALMOST 3/4 of an inch across. A 24mm Carb should measure ALMOST an inch across. Alleyoop

Well, the carb that I have on there now, I'm not sure what size it is. I assumed it was the stock size of what, 18mm? But it might be bigger, which could be causing the problems? Because the other carb didn't have that problem. It just had an idleing issue. I couldn't do much with it, because it was a tamper proof carb. Only had an idle screw.

Well take the old one and drill out the PLUG on it so you can get at the Fuel Ratio Screw. And measure the one that is on there. NOW HERE is something to check. Measure BOTH and if they are 18 or 19 both of them doesn't really matter we are only talking 1 mm difference.
BUT take the PILOT JET from the OLD ONE and stick it in the one that is on there now. Since it was running good but just an idle problem that should do the trick since this one has the fuel ratio screw. It appears this one that is on there has a very small PILOT JET and does not supply enough fuel. Alleyoop

The one that's on there now has stripped screws on the bottom And the stock carb has sheared screws everywhere, because it's tamper proof :\

Well the stripped screws you can deal with those pretty easy just get a pliers and grab them from the side and BADA BING BADA BOOM. Then you can take ONE screw to the hardward store and get new ones easy as pie. Or you can get a new carb BUT you may get one with the PILOT JET TO SMALL you won't know until you put it on(HAHA). So new carb and you may have the same problemOOOOOOOOOOO. So get your handy dandy pliers and take off the screws on the bowl and get new ones and DRILL out the ones on the other one and WHOLA. You know the PILOT JET on the other works good and the idle problem we can easly deal with that. You do want to ride don't you? ;D Alleyoop

Yea I think that is the best course of action, Since you said with the OLD carb it ran like a champ but had a little idle problem. So we now the jets were good on that one. And you know what Also take the MAIN JET out of the old and put that in the CARB you have on it now. Then we know we are apples and apples and it should crank up and just need to adjust the FUEL RATIO SCREW after the jets are put in.
The other one I am sure the idle problem was caused by running lean because the ones that are plugged are SET REALLY LEAN to pass emssions so it will be easy to adjust and get a descent idle out of it. After you change out the jets while you have it out Adjust the FUEL RATIO SCREW to 2 1/2 turns out and start at that setting. From that setting it should just be a little tweaking richer or leaner. I'm back and guess what. Nothing changed. I took the jets out of the old carb and put them in the new carb. Still acts the same. I even adjusted the idle and air fuel mix screw

Ok bud, time to take the flywheel off and check the woodruff key. But before you take it off PUT A MARK on the FLYWHEEL and the case so you have a reference point of where it is at right now and if something moved like the woodruff key it would be out of time. Alleyoop

Aren't you the one that took if off and put on a woodruff key??? or maybe someone else did that. I response to so many It gets confusing. But if it was you then when you put the flywheel back on if you didn't do it right you could have pushed the key out of the shaft slot ((* Alleyoop

I'm thinking, and what if I have to line up the "T" Mark on the flywheel with the mark on the engine so it'll be at top dead center when it starts? That makes sense, right? That way everything oil be in perfect timing?
