Hi all,
Hope you've all been well!
So my scooter is still scootin' along. Zero problems - other than some plastic around the handle bars crumbling due to me spilling some brake fluid on it (oops!)
But other than that, been pretty darn pleased with the reliability of it. Just ONE thing that has been driving me nutso.
When on the freeway, after a few miles, my hands start to hurt from the vibration (even with wearing riding gloves.) The ride in general just isn't very plush. So my question is, does replacing the stock tires with new ones make THAT much of a difference? Is it like, night and day? The stock tires still have a ton of life on them and I'm not one to replace something unless it needs replacing, so they have to REALLY make a difference if I'm going to bring myself to shell out money to replace tires that are still 'good.'
But.. if they're awesome.. I think I might just do it. Opinions are welcomed please!
Thanks, matt

The OEM tires are hard as a brick, that's why they are up in my attic storage with less than 1k miles on them. They will beat your brains out. Letting a little air out helps a bit but then you create extra drag and lose some MPG. Softer tires won't wear as long but they do make a difference.
I run Avons have Pirellis on my wife's 250, I rather replace them more often than have my hands hurt on the others. I wouldn't have even considered the 408 mile one way trip to Dallas with the tires that came on the scooter. (o)

Yoster, I have a JCL MP250 A with the 257 engine. I run the Pirelli SL26 130/60/13 on the front and the Pirelli Diablo 130/70/13 on rear. Iget them at the Motorcycle Super store and they are a little over $100.00 for both. The last 2 sets I have gotten have had free frt on orders over $99.00. They seem to be a very nice smooth running tire and a good ride. Like JR said the Chinese tires are bricks and most have a speed rating of only 62 mph which is not good on the 250's and up. Change em out, just put a very good tire back on. Barnie

Thanks for the info guys. Barnie I'd check out those tires but I don't think we run the same sizes between the 257 and 244? Can't remember, but I thought they were slightly different for some reason size-wise. I'll check out that website you mentioned though!

Richard - do you have the 244cc or the 257cc engine?
