Hi guys. Neither latch on my seat seem to be working correctly. The back one doesn't open to accept the metal loop to actually lock shut so I can't close the seat completely. Before I tear into it to try and get it functioning I wondered if anyone could tell me the easiest way to get to it. As always, appreciate the help.

Not sure what scooter you have there but my Roketa MC 250 B also uses 2 latches--these latches are adjustable and assuming yours is not damaged, just loosen the bolts that hold them on and slowly close the seat ,watch and see if it gonna match up--ummm---don't close the seat until you got it right tho--good luck,fflintstone---by the way,if latches are ok,and the key turns ok,try opening the seat and then push a small screw driver or hasp into the latch and see if it closes and opens with the key ok

Thanks for the help, guys. The scoot is a MC 250 B like yours, fflintstone. I will get into it this weekend to see if I can get the latches taken care of. (Want to get the fluids all changed first)

Do look to the side latch and see if the moving part is free to move and return. If it is not free, mine was not, then a careful pry between that part and the stationary plate to free it up may do the job for you.
My latches have worked great ever since I made sure both latch assemblies were free to move. Apparently all the efforts I put in prior to finding the interference were wasted time and materials. So take the cables loose for the moment and see that the latches themselves are free. .

Looks like the back one was just stuck closed. I popped it open and lubed it with some WD-40 and it seems to be working well enough. It isn't a huge deal because I don't really store anything in the seat since I have the trunk but I like it when everything works right! Thanks again, guys.
