I just adjusted my valves on the Vog (257 cc Linhai) to .004 in and .006 out. Now I have an audible tic tic tic . . . . that I didn't have before. I checked again and the clearances were right. I'll need to let it cool down before checking again, but perhaps the out is too big? some people say .005. Some people also say ignore it because they'll tighten up anyway. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.

Did you adjust valves when cold Don't adjust when hot or warm when it cools down they will be off.(a tic tic is what you want to hear) if you don't hear the ticking then the valves are too tight. I just adjusted my valves also and set mine .004 intake and exhaust .006 inches. (5 or 6 at exhaust fine) ts running great and I hear the tic, tic. BTW, make sure you add a little oil, because of the oil you lost when adjusting the bottom valve)

Thanks for the reply Richard. I did do it cold, thanks, and put back in the oil. Great tips that I am glad I did not learn them "the hard way" as I have with other things!
I know the valves were too tight because it was very hard to start hot or warm, so I'm wondering if I'm just used to it being too quiet! I'll ride around tomorrow and see how it goes.
